(December 6 to December 12, 2021)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
Occasions
We in Save-Point love it when our members celebrate thier birthdays. As such we noticed that members like yamina-chan and hansiec have birthdays when this week started, this being followed by a birthday for Rei~. Just then, the collective birthdays of G.I. Toez, David95, zoqiera and djskagnetti caused a spike in candle sales. And after that, Hellper had birthday cake a plenty. Then finally, Rook's birthday had passed by.

General Chat
Tensions have risen if you've paid attention to the News of the World, as Russia sent thousands of troops to the Ukranian border. Things may turn sour for China as President Biden refuses to let any US officials to be at the 2022 Winter Olympics. And in England, Tory leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith learned the BBC had Pension Investments in China, and called for the funding to cease. Turmoil will be the word for CNN as they have now fired Chris Cuomo over sex misconduct allegations. And Kyle Rittenhouse found Electronic Arts is targeting his EA account, citing that his actual name says could “harm others or negatively disrupt the game.” and his name violates the company’s ‘Positive Play Charter’. The US Senate's rejection of Biden's Vaccine mandate, Israel's stance against the Iran Nuclear Deal, and the Pope's heckled visit to Greece were among other things to read for world news this week.

Tech Talk
Newly revealed to the News of the Cyber World is that the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) is able to collect metadata (sender/destination tags, and the like) from iMessage, WhatsApp and other messaging platforms in mere minutes, and even some content from iMessage if not encrypted. Not all messaging platforms are fully available, however.

Forum Games & Nonsense
Ever have issues buying that book you want in the local book store? Well, DerVVulfman found a tale of an employee in a Hobby Game store and a customer who wished to do something That’s Not In The Rule Books.

Games Development
Development Discussion
This week, you will find out What's Up with fellow RMers, Remi-chan as she posted the latest trailer for her game Fantasia. However, dear reader, you will be pleased to know that another member is voicing one of the game's lead characters.

Tutorials
Not all of a game's programming issues need to be solved by scripting. With that, kyonides provided a quick lecture on When NOT to Use a Script giving a simple example on when it should be reconsidered.

After revisiting and rereading his initial posting on Making things the hard way, kyonides added suggesitons. Such included safeguards and error-prevention routines, though he still suggests that its helpful to let users run into runtime errors.

Material Development
Resources Database
In a forum where tileset art is at a premium, one may wish to know that Eric Matyas is still Building a Massive Library of Free Images for Everyone, now posting even more stone and wood artwork that can be tiled.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
For those interested, not only has Eric Matyas been Sharing his Original Music and Sound FX, but have made several music packs in high-quality ogg format. And this week, you may find a complete Fantasy set available in his music packs link. Meanwhile, he composed two new pieces, an actiony little piece entitled Arcade Adventures 2, and 'Windle's Whimsical World which can be found within his funny music pages.

Well, that's it for this week.
