[/quote]@Rosair:
You seem to believe that God, in religions, is some form of human with no power and that's what's wrong. God made creation, planets, stars, blackholes, the universe and the like. The point of him being the Creator, the God (not 'god/s'), is that is he All Powerful, powerful enough to create such things. And in religions, God is powerful enough to have created the universe. So using the Dwarf stars, blackholes, the Big Bang -- all of that, in religion, has been created by God -- can't be used to disprove religion as God is a powerful being in which has the power to create planets, people etc etc.

this state ment is a fallacy. Why? Because the stories the religions tell shows gods apparent limitations.]And the focus on humanity as the main reason or logic behind life is common. Also the very cultral importance of gods seems to deflate him to a very small thing. The bible says the Jews are gods chosen people.Makes sence,it was written by jews.
In shintoism Izanagi and iznami made and manage the island chain Japan.Makes sence it was written by the japanese. And so on.Everyones important in the eyes of their own gods. But a real god would have no reason to put such importance on humanity at all.We are but on creature in one galaxy of just one universe. And our egos say that God needs to be like us and we are his greatest accomplishment. That is wrong.Stars are vastly larger and more important then humans.Life itself is not exclusive to earth.
And No religion has ever claimed in scripture that the universe is as large as it is.and if we find alien life this would disprove everysingle myth that humans are a creation of god.sence none of them mention alien life at all.
Its that small world in which religion lives in that is its greatest flaw.It cant explian anything. It only creates more questions and doesnt answer anything at all.How was life created?According to various religions it was purposely made with an intended plan for our existence. But this is wrong because Evolution doesnt have a goal.It simply wants to survive, with any means necessary.Never mind that no religion has ever accuratly answered How life was created.Science does,We are generaly made up of the elements stars produce when they die.We are Far more complex then any scripture has stated. And all my religous arguments start with that scripture. The bible doesnt answer with ANY accuracy of why life is.Which is its intended goal.Religion has failed.Science is succeeding. That sounds like God doesnt exist to me. Cause humans just made him up, and like I said, Will change their story as science progresses.
Over time God as a theory will expand as science continues to kill the theories previous incarnations.
The stars themselves are more like the gods we seek.Which is ironic sence early religion is rooted in praising nature. Now really are we supposed to take anyone seriously When they speak as if they know something we still havent found?God doesnt exist because hes too human.I didnt make him that way,the religions of the world wrote him as such.Read the bible, or anything mythical. The gods that came before Jehovah were just as wrong and mythical.]God will almost assuredly never become more then a theory.Because theists will almost always change the theory as science progresses as another excuse for why hes real, when the source tells you of a god that is impossible and definably not real.Im probably an antitheist As I oppose any argument that roots itself in faith over knowledge.Faith is not a virtue, its a sin. knowledge is why we survived this long not faith. Our constant want for more knowledge is why we continue to live. Its a purpose that we have created, and we strive for under our own will. And even If Im wrong and there is a god.I can garantee that it will not resemble anything we have ever thought up.and if I gain this knowledge I shall not reject it. I shall pear into it and learn about it.Why follow Religion? Science will answer everything in due time.As I said before.Knowledge is superior to faith in every way.Why would ever want the lazy made up story when You culd find out about something real? Why assume when you have the oopertunity to learn everything about it?That is why Im right about this.Humans arent even fully convienced, which is why science is taken as seriously as it is.We pour millions of dollars into scientific research we pour a few bucks a weekend into religion.
The human race is one of knowledge. Not Faith.Faith is a moral engine. It doesnt need to be really, It just happens to be one.An incentive to make a moral code that betters your life.]Basicaly Its true purpose hides behind its intended purposeIts intent was to answer the mystery of life. Its use is to set morals so everyone knows whats right from wrong.Of course its flawed in this respect too citing that god Kills billions of people in the bible for petty childish reasons. But still Moses made a code of ethics, and we constantly improve on that code. The bible realy should be taken for what it is.Our moral infancy. Our first real attempt at creating proper accepted conduct amoungst ourselves.

I wasn't trying to debate on the existence of a God or Gods... it's a pointless debate and no amount of logic will ever sway anyone from their opinions on the matter. I'm just curious, if being in heaven is the ultimate focus for christianity, then why would you doom some people who are ignorant to his existence? Yes, some would agree with the views, but many wouldn't.

Btw, what makes 12 this magical number of accountability? I don't remember who posted it earlier... but who decided on 12? I know the bible says lots of crazy things.... but I don't ever remember seeing a specific number...

theres no such thing as a pointless debate.
After all if no one debated it who would ever change their mind?its not about makig th opponents change, its about allowing others to see their ignorance and avoid it.

To me that question cant be answered and have god still exist as an actual thing.Cause the answer is simple. Its a cultural Ego. The Jews made this god up, they make up the rules. So if they are the chosen people everyone whose not aware of god doesnt get the privilege. They didnt care if their rules would of subsequently put you in a non-existant place like hell.
They didnt think about them.Thats an angle they didnt put in,most likely cause they were unable to see how flawed it was.its typical of early religion.

the answer to your question is, they didnt write the book to include you in it.Simple isnt it.
Its human nature to think we're big shots.

I disagree... I love a good debate but not when religion is concerned, you can't have a meaningful debate with people who only have one conception of how the debate will end. If you're debating with rational open-minded people, then it's worth a debate, but from what I've seen, "christians" are severely lacking in this aspect. Also, religious people tend to view the word "faith" as a trump to any argument you could possibly present ;)

In the bible people who are ignorant to christianity just die. Only christians go to hell. During the apocolypse, the dead will rise from the earth and dwell with mankind. It's a chance of redemption for anyone who hasn't made the choices to get to heaven. I'm not sure what happens to the people in hell though.

Im sorry if you have such a sour opinion of debate.
But conflict is always worth it.The entire universe works by pushing and pulling.
Creating movement stirring up thought, improving flawed arguments.
Science and religion both move, Science is just faster.
Which is why I prefer it.Religion is scared that their wrong, science sorta embraces it.

Personaly I think religion is our infant form and we should leave it behind. As we are superior then we were then.
This debate resonates at the very core of peoples understanding of things,The people we're arguing with are like an opponent in boxing, the ones we're influencing the most are outside the ring sitting in the seats.
That is the very nature of all conflict. If the opponent changes his mind too thats just the consolation prize for being superior in the conflict.
My point stands as no argument is a wasted one.

As for the principles of heaven and hell most people consider those metaphors for moral outcomes. Karma.

Another moral tool.Cept of course ,sense moral isnt a real property, Karma isnt real.Cause and effect are, Karma is not.
Heaven metaphorically embodies what you can expect if you are morally correct.
And hell embodies if your morally contemptible.

The reality is that Karma doesnt factor into the equation.
You can easily tip the scales in your favor no matter what your doing or trying to accomplish.
This is shown Many times when in history people were unable to govern themselves for any one reason. For instance the settling of western america.Or the rush to the new world.WW2 had some devious people never to be cuaght or charged with hideous crimes.
And the latest being the internet. Pirating is its rise here on the internet. And itll take some time before People can govern it properly.International laws would have to change and an assload of redefinitions to copyrights and how much someone can actualy controll something like a simple line of code.

Really the only thing "coming after someone" is probability. As long as someone doesnt like what your doing they will be vigilant to it, and eventualy they will catch you.
It doesnt have to be considered wrong or right in order to do so.
And being Wrong morally doesnt make the equation tip in favor of the ones looking.
you can ecven expiriment with it to see if karma applies.
I do it by walking into wal-mart and taking a single Soda from the vending machine and walk out.Out of the 40 times i went in, they only stopped me twice. And this varries depending on some key factors.Like the greaters themselves and the likeliness they will assume that you didnt check out yet.
I then bought 40 colas and attempted to walk out with it unopened and unbagged.
The fact that I did the right thing didnt chang the varriables. I got stopped twice.

In reality people form opinions of everything from what your dressed like to how you talk.
And regardless of whether you realize it, you form your stereotypes in your head.
Sence I just look like a girl buying or looking at videogames not many people will stop me.
It will happen more often then someone who looks like a mother however.
Peoples opinions of mothers dont include theft .And almost instantly believe anything Reasonable excuse.
as where lets say a boy wearing baggy pants whose slouches will get more attention.
Typicaly Mexicans and blacks who look like normal kids will be stopped the most.

It really doesnt matter what religion says, Much of it is pure speculation and has thousands of holes.
But it is important to combat these when they have the following they do.Christianity is more then 2000 years old.I think its time for it to be challenged More.the inevitable end is that these modern religions will die off.Form new Religions that will also hopefully die off.

But as long as science is alive and well.there will always be a debate.
and where there is debate, there is change.
