Recruitment: Space Dust
Job Opportunities:
Looking for an artist to recreate all art assets for my indie team's upcoming title, Space Dust, a side scrolling shooter (i.e. Einhander, Sol Divide, Gradius, R-Type). This includes all enemies and bosses, and their movement and death animations.
Project Bio:
Space Dust, as mentioned before, is a side scrolling shooter which consists of 11 stages. 6 of which are normal "shoot hordes of enemies and reach stage boss", and 5 that involve just you and the Warp Boss (a flying, decapitated, metal dragon skull), all while avoiding space debris. Originally I had it where if you died at any point in the game, you started all over again at Stage 1. Well, I'm OK with implementing a life counter to give the player an easier time to correct their mistakes.
About the "growth", it's based on the score amount and when a certain score amount has been achieved, then the player will obtain a stronger attack that will replace the old one. This is all lost when death occurs, however. The score and growth stats reset at that point.
Team:
So far, it's just me as the coder/writer/artist, but will leave that artist position to someone else. MetalRenard has helped out with the music, a friend of mine from college already did the backgrounds, and another for the ending illustration.
What I am looking for:
Total enemy count: 15
Total boss count: 8
Each enemy has either 1-5 frames of movement animation, depending on whether they are organic or not. Same goes for bosses, but the increase of movement animation to 4-10. As for the enemy death animation, I'm OK with a simple explosion rather than having X amount of frames of each enemy being destroyed. The bosses would have multiple explosions happening around them when defeated (think MegaMan X boss being defeated) while evaporating. Attached below are screenshots.
This also entails the recreation of the player, and their "growth" (that being a level up). The ship changes form, from being simplistic metal space-craft to something bigger and more organic.
Payment:
I honestly wish I was given more hours to be able to pay you upfront, but that's not the case. What I am willing to do is sign a contract stating that you will earn an agreed upon amount of revenue, instead.
