(February 5 to February 11, 2021)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
Though he played around with RPGMaker VXAce for a while, jkingjamesj joined our community to say hello. He was greeted by DerVVulfman who inquired of his talents, MetalRenard who noted our discord channel, and kyonides who suggested he stay clear of any canines he encountered.

A good number of birthdays were celebrated this week in our forum, starting with that of Anski. Ace, Launian, chameleon1333 and EYELESS celebrated their birthday, followed close behind by birthday celebrations for DariusSlayer and Mappelond. These were followed by Dreadzly's birthday soon after. It wasn't long before lorddonk had the chance to celebrate his birthday. And lastly, Argol228 enjoyed his birthday this Sunday.

General Chat
Turmoil is an appropriate word for this week's News of the World, with President Biden under fire by World Leaders over Afghanistan and statements he made being immediately called out as lies. For Democrats, the FBI's report citing that the January 6th incident in Washington DC was not an insurrection will surely be crushing. Meanwhile, terror struck a man at a gym as video shows an unseen force actually grabbing him and pulling him across the floor.

Tech Talk
It appears cellular phone companies hit the News of the Cyber World this week as T-Mobile had what appears to be a massive breach affecting more than 100 million customers. And while Blackberry's operating system may be extremely popular, critical flaws were found that could affect the medical, automotive and energy sectors. Meanwhile, be watchful of your baby monitor as hackers can intercept that signal and watch you in turn, this according to a new report.

The issue with the Print Spooler is still a major player for Ransomware attacks making Windows 10 Unsafe! Now a group known as Vice Society recently used the vulnerability to steal sensitive data from a network (name withheld), and claimed responsibility for several School District and healthcare system hacks.

Forum Games & Nonsense

Games Development
Development Discussion
When one asks a member What's up about RMing, you usually get a snippet or two. However, Kain Nobel returned with a big update on his return to game development, his rock album in post production, and his move and subsequent start of a business.

Material Development
Event Systems Database
For those users of RPGMaker 2003, DerVVulfman made a demo of a simple Day/Night System. While it doesn't have features like a clock display, he suggests alteration for such could be simple enough to perform.

Scripts Database
Kyonides revisited his KInquire XP system and added an option for those lovers of police dramas. Now the content you create can include a case report number. In addition to that, some new script calls were added that lets you change the dialog content in-game.

It is a rarity that kyonides makes a script to work with the RPGMaker XP battlesystem. But this week he has, now introducing KReBattle XP to the world. Now, you have the option to perform a do-over if your party is killed in battle.

If you're tired of using RPGMaker XP's innate way of granting an actor access to weapons by their class, kyonides created KustomEkuipSets XP which lets you use script calls to add or remove what weapons or armor they may be able to equip.

This week, kyonides revealed an unofficial add-on to the Super Simple Vehicle System which he entitled VPassengersLimit XP. Now you can ensure that a vehicle has a maximum capacity of riders.

DerVVulfman updated his Super Simple Vehicle System - Enhanced thread this week, not for an alteration of the vehicle engine but that it now contains a script call for those wishing to move vehicle positions when the Set Event Location command cannot. With that, he gave an explantion as to why the updated demos now include the feature.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
This week, Eric Matyas made a special request as he continues to Share his Original Music and Sound FX, essentially contributions to support his music endeavors and purchases of his .ogg music packs. Still, he wished it known that he accepts commissions and posted another epic piece of work this week.

Literature Section
The Bibliotheca
While the siblings were otherwise engaged, a new threat emerged within the pages of The Worlds We Have Left Behind. The tale by kyonides continues as the Jade Emperor of the Nocturnal Empire sets his sights upon reclaiming an ancient land. Unfortunately, the mad Emperor's target is the within the Sea Breeze Kingdom where our young friends may be found. And the archeologist finally made some headway with the text he needs to decipher. But what does that translation now herald?

Well, that's it for this week.
