Two Poems
#1
Grief

A tree falls silent
In the forgotten forest.
No one hears its fall.

Fendrod Lake

Still as liquid mercury
Spilled between trees and hills.

A lake a silence away
From a bombed out city,
Struggling to make sense
Of a world where industry
Is treated as history.

A bird sings high on a branch.
A song of sweet sadness.
Caught forever in the now.
I saw the boys of summer in their ruin. Dylan Thomas.
