(February 28 to March 6, 2022)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
Occasions
This week, David came by representing HGS. Experienced with RPGMaker XP for a decade, he plans on releasing a game on steam. He was greeted by Kain Nobel and MetalRenard who wished him the best, and Kyonides who wondered about the game and his talent, while DerVVulfman saw he knew something of scripting and production at least.

Is he from Poland or is he Japanese? Ask this of Tepe who enjoys programming, RPGMaker XP and of course, anime. Welcomed he was this week by MetalRenard and DerVVulfman.

Coming by to join the RPGMaker community this week was flipout, and greeted he was by DerVVulfman.

While it is true that Pie is Fly, you just have to love a good slice of Birthday cake and this week there was plenty of cake going around. This week started off as Darkantuan and AkiseDogma had some cake. Later on, rgangsta, BigSteps and CasualRPGLover1337 had their slices of cake. The very next day, Mokai, ixfuru and TheOpethian all had a birthday in common. It wasn't long before Zentank and NoahStark had the chance to celebrate thier birthday. It didn't take long before RosyPosy, HackZilla, Lizzbutt and soolodev had time for sweet confectionary goodness, leaving bakeries around town relatively void, the last cake being delivered to ChainsawTaft, Trailman, HeroofPunk, coffinbag and Sayerim at the end of the week.

General Chat
If you needed something to listen to, you could get advice from Kain Nobel by asking him What are YouTubing? This week, he chose some music from the Ace Combat 7 OST.

It is no surprise that the News of the World would be focused upon the Crisis in Ucraine. While Ukraine is getting support from most nations, President Zelensky receiving a standing ovation at the European Union's Parliamant, Russia again threatened Nuclear Attacks if it became a world war. Insofar as medicine, it has been reported that a woman is now free of HIV, and has been for over a year, after undergoing a novel blood transplant procedure from stem-cell technology. However, a Swedish study posted in the Current Issues of Molecular Biology states that the Phizer Covid vaccine in use undergoes a change within human liver cels. The possible side effect that the vaccine causes, according to the study, is autoimmune hepatitis which has been reported in some cases. New York Attorney General Letitia James's attempt to dissolve the NRA (National Rifle Association) was canceled by the New York Supreme Court, finding her allegations did not meet the requirements for its dissolution. And former Houston Rockets Royce White throws his hat into the political ring, to unseat Ilhan Omar from her Minnesota district on the Republican ticket. Nations releasing oil from their strategic reserves, the loss of an actor from Law&Order:SVU, and even other events occured this week for those to read.

Tech Talk
The Daxin Backdoor used by Chinese Hackers for espionage against various governments has been dubbed the most advanced piece of malware in use. It allows the hacker to read and write files and start processes while being nearly invisible. Subtle in how it operates, it can integrate itself into legitimat machine behavior, increasing its stealth to prevent detection. According to Symantic, it is possible that the use of Daxin may have begun almost a decade ago.

The News of the Cyber World was bad for Nvidia this week as the U.S. chip maker had its database breached and stole employee credentials and proprietary information. However, no ransomware was found and the company worked to increase its systems security after contacting law enforcement.

Games Development
Development Discussion
As this forum involves the development of games, it's commonplace to ask What's up among fellow RMers . For example, Kain Nobel is working on localization for his widgets. That is to say, he is working on making it so the dropdown menus and artifices he plans to use will be able to handle different local languages such as English, German, Japanese and so on. Meanwhile, Remi-chan has been working on her game, and has Siletrea doing more vocal work while DerVVulfman has been running spellchecks on the dialog. This is ongoing as she has scores of new artwork thanks to Pjcr, RiseDemos and CoyoteCraft, the latter having worked on her new crop of Kitsune sprites you have the priviledge to see. After this, Remi-chan revealed a new cinematic trailer for her game, Fantasia.

Complete Projects
This past January, jreagan406 was able to recover his demo for Solar Mass, but found he had been detained. This week, he apologied as work and his current project has been taking up much of his time.

Upcoming Projects
Venture into jreagan406's thread for Astral Faction, and gaze upon his game's promotional artwork.

Tutorials
Two new tutorials for RPGMaker MZ battlesystems were posted this week, both by DoubleX. The first discussed the Basic knowledge of default turn based battle flow implementations, hoping you would have a smattering of Javascript knowledge and what the battle flow does. And The second discussed Basic knowledge of the TPBS battle flow implementations, and assumes you have some proficiency with plugin development and the basic knowledge of the default system's turn based battle flow itself.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
Eric Matyas continued to increase his selection of lo-fidelity pieces, adding to his Original Music and Sound FX this week. Now, lo-fidelity version of Cyberpunk Heroes and Uneasy Anticipation are available among his sci-fi collection.

Art and Design
Within Remi-chan's Neato Arty thread thing!, you can now see a fully rendered visage of Mischevia: The Rising Hellstar. Unfortunately, no speed draw is available thanks to issues she has with OBS Studio.

Well, that's it for this week.
