(March 14 to March 20, 2021)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette!  Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
A new hobbyist going by Gilgameshed joined the forum, experienced with RPGmaker 2000 and new to RPGMaker MV and Godot. Greeted this week he was by DerVVulfman who invited him to post any event systems he may wish to share.

Days come and days go, but a birthday is always something special as a number of our members got to celebrate theirs.  Early this week, Bolt had his own celebration which were followed later by omar1ofg's, DrHouse93's, Naky's, Derjyn's and DaBlackMamba's.  It wasn't long before the duo of reiji1337 and FrQise had the chance to celebrate thier birthday.  This was followed iced covered confectionaries going out to nathanlehe, kahuna and dolarmak the next day.  And before we hit the weekend, we had birthday celebrations for Dweller and Segaco with cake a plenty.

  General Chat
A bit of a giggle hit kyonides since reading one of Remi-chan's stories.  A minor character's name was on his mind? since it sounded very much to a German beer to him. But to DerVVulfman, it was just another last name based on where a family line originated.

Russian atrocities fill the News of the World as an aid worker was kidnapped in Ukraine by suspected Russian Forces.  This while reporters for both the New York Times and Fox News were killed by Russian Troops. And whle this is ensuing, Putin layed out requirements for a cease fire, demanding Ukraine lays down its guns, give up claimed territories and much more.  In other events, various credit report systems such as Experian and Equifax announced they are removing much of consumer's medical debits from their fredit reports.  And Egypt is now displaying newly discovered artifacts found at the Pharaonic Necropolis just outside of Cairo.

Games Development
  Development Discussion
If you thought Remi-chan was taking an extended break, you were wrong.  Just ask her "What's up?" and this RPG Maker will show you new screens for her current work's title menu, a new video spotlighting various games under her belt, and more.

Creativity Section
  Music and Audio
Two more pieces of work are available thanks to Eric Matyas who enjoys Sharing His Original Music.  One piece entitled "Keep Moving" may leave one thinking of a Cyber Metropolis while his second piece "Extra Cheese, Please" make harken one back to 70's campy cop shows like Starky and Hutch.

  Literature Section
The story of Erik continues within Flames and Death as kyonides releases two new chapters to his tale.  He reuinites with the dishelveled maiden he recalls from earlier, and finds their fates intertwined even more. As he plans to enter a forest to recover artifacts deemed requisite by arcane voices, troubles ensue as he encounters other students which could spoil things for his quest and with the maiden herself.

What happens when a egotistical student finds that a reclusive girl in his school has lived for billions of years?  This and more unfolds within The Tome with No Name, a tale by Remi-Chan.  Based upon characters from her Fantasia universe, the two spark a friendship only to find that her continued stay at the school is unwelcomed and attempts at her removal may carry serious consequences.

Special Projects
  ReGaL (RPG Game Lab)
  The Talk Box
Kain Nobel asked for insight and suggestions regarding Voice Over Support for the ReGaL system.  With it, he was curious how it would be selected, played and so forth.  With that, DerVVulfman looked into how a pair of Bethesda Softworks games handled vocal support in their editors, and rendered a variation of Kain's message box editor as proposal. Seeing the render, Kain thought it was a good minimalistic approach worthy for the system.

Kain Nobel has been brainstorming and coming up with new REGAL Application such as an improved Self-Switches control widged, a feature to turn off individual messages if multiple message boxes appear, reworking of the inventory and input systems and music playback.  And now he's contemplating whether any changes or additions are needed to the conditional branch system, and map system.  He has thoughts on Event handling and inqured what anyone would wish to see about map handling while asking DerVVulfman about his ABS.  DerVVulfman replied, and gave some insight while making suggestions towards more layers and thoughts about dynamic maps and an option for the title screen.

Well, that's it for this week.
