(April 4 to April 10, 2022)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
Occasions
This week, we had plenty of reasons to celebrate, mainly due to the number of birthdays that came and went. First this week were the birthdays of freetime20, MikeBite, weirdo232, skagd and AmbiguouslyAnonymous, which was later followed by the mass birthday collective belonging to RMXPokemaniac, ShinobiChef, ♥SCIENCE♥, gluegun51, dokibaku, pfergy, LilyFrog and Eshkova. Later on, deValdr, Jojozityjo, dart360 and Mike_Everley were found to be sharing some cake together, followed by the baker having to make a cake for mrbekkler. After that, jesse120 and Metalknight had birthdays to celebrate. After that, Mang, MandoJetii and Henark shared their special day. And this week ended as theneonheart's birthday had come and gone.

General Chat
Many things happened this week according to the News of the World, whether it was a DHL cargo plane breaking in half after a crash landing in Costa Rica or the Taliban actively banning opium cultivation in Afghanistan. Russia was found to be operating portable crematoriums to eliminate evidence of their alleged war crimes in Ukraine while Australia began supplying 20 Bushmaster military transports to Ukraine with some outfitted as Ambulance vehicles. Another Professor is convicted in the US for hiding ties to Communist China, and IKEA invests almost $373 Million in solar parks for German and Spain power needs.

Tech Talk
After much talk about the social platform, Twitter hit the News of the Cyber World as Elon Musk bought 9% of the company shares, raising share values by 27%. Now a majority stakeholder, he made many suggestions including methods to reduce spam, eliminating advertisements and turning the San Francisco branch into a shelter due to its vacancy.

If anyone thought that China and Russia were not talking to one another before the invaion into Ukraine, their presumptions will likely be dashed as it was revealed that Chinese Hackers had carried out massive cyberattacks upon over 600 websites owned by Kyiv's Defense Ministry just before the Beijiing Winter Olympics had ended.

Games Development
Development Discussion
Game Development is What's up with our RMers as Kain Nobel praised Remi-chan's and coyotecraft's work. In turn, he submitted a test video of his current rendition of the ReGaL project with his game, Belly of the Beast. Remi-chan thought it looked cool, though she had suggestions for the ambient fire effect used within. After that, she posted a video of her own, a remake of a scene she's been working on. And of work, DerVVulfman talked about the tactical system request he has been working on, adding a window to show individual members of military squads attacking or counter attacking when the tactical actions are taking place. Steel Beast 6Beets thought it sounded like an interesting idea, one that he felt was a first for RPGMaker XP.

Material Development
Scripts Database
This week, Kain Nobel posted a pair of Shop scripts that he wrote back in 2009, the first being a Command Help scirpt that adds help descriptions to the basic Shop system commands. The second script he wrote for the shop system was one that allows you to Change Prices depending upon the shop.

If immediate response to attacks is your thing, Kingly Kounters by DerVVulfman may suit your needs. For the default battlesystem, it is a script that lets enemies respond to a successful strike with an immediate counterattack. However, it also allows party members throw counter strikes of their own if so configured.

Script Requests
Last week, kingray100 asked for a Basic Enemy Counterattacks script, if one was available or could be arranged. When DerVVulfman saw the lack of requirements, he relayed that he was to have it within a single day. But he apparently didn't stop with the needs that kingray100 put forth and added more features and options.

Resource Requests
New natural wood grains for your game are available thanks to the Massive Library of Free Images that Eric Matyas is putting together. Along with that, detailed sandstone like brickwork and grainy blue concrete may also fill your rpg making or artistic needs.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
Does your game take place in the era of big bands and swing? If so, then you may appreciate that Eric Matyas is Sharing His Original Music as another Jazz composition entitled Shufflin' has appeared.

Art and Design
If you saw Remi-chan's Neato Arty thread thing!, you would see that a new bit of pencilwork has appeared. Not into much other than line-art this week, her rendering of Ashe is nothing more than a rough draft.

Special Projects
ReGaL (RPG Game Lab)
Screenies
How much is going to be packed within the REGAL Application if Kain Nobel reveals to Siletrea this week that variable column and row options for all manners of sprites for cel animation will be introduced. He also appreciated work that DerVVulfman did in an adaptive menu which may have features introduced into ReGaL's main menu creation system. He has a new menu shop widget which he revealed in bright crimson to represent the Ruby scripting language, and has plans to clean up some of the current code. Following the menu post, DerVVulfman suggested a means to create numerous instances of items so weapons may break or armor damaged and yet be sold and re-bought. Melana appreciated the idea and noted that a script by Kyonides does something similar to allow weapons and armor altered without affecting the base items.

Well, that's it for this week.
