Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Whilst he has dabbled with RPGMaker XP for some years, SuiteP has now discovered our community. Greeted by DerVVulfman, he reminded this writer that RPGs are story telling by design, and was curious about what tale SuiteP was to tell. True, SuiteP has a work, but something as yet to see.

General Chat

When the week ended, the News of the World ended with U.S. President Biden dropping out of the 2024 Election race, with his delegates considering his Vice President. Whilst the party plans to hold a convention to confirm who would be on the election ticket, Former President Obama has no interest in supporting VP Harris. More reports have eminated around the assassination attempt of Former President Trump, a source denied by the White House and other services that Iran had revenge on their mind, this while no such connection appears between Tehran and Shooter Thomas Crooks. Of the shooting, the Secret Service is under fire over its handling of safeguarding Former President Trump, and the murky background of Crooks begins to slowly take shape. In Israel, the city of Tel Aviv suffered a large explosion, few details having come forward. But not long after, Israeli Fighter Jets struck the Al Hudaydah Port in Yemen, a port said to funnel weapons from Iran to support the Houthi terrorists. The sentancing of Wall Street Journal journalist Evan Gershkovich to 16 years under claims he was a CIA operative, and the rising death toll after a bridge in the Shaanxi province of China crumbled and collapsed also hit this week's news.

Tech Talk

While most heard about the CrowdStrike update debacle, the News of the Cyberworld revealed that there are now malicious actors now seeking to take advantage and began posing as members of CrowdStrike's Tech department. To this day, several emergency services are still down in many states, all linked to CrowdStrike's faulty update. However, Russia is unaffected, having long since having a policy of replacing key components and software with their own. Of replacement and removal, Elon Musk has officially announced that SpaceX and X/Twitter will relocate to Texas after citing both California safety and lawlessness concerns. And citing lawlessness, the FBI had finally cracked the encryption of Trump Shooter Thomas Crook's phone with assistance by Cellebrite.

With the dawn of AI art, it would be understandable that many would be curious about its usefulness. But that time has passed, and Starmage has now begun replacing the AI generated cover art of her older games. With that, BlueSkies was her first to replace the Leonardo AI art with her own, showcasing Skye, Caven, and the rest almost as they were within the previous cover art, but in her own unique style. This was followed not long after with new art she produced for BlueSkies 2. And while the same cast of Lyrelle, Luna, River and the others appear as they did within the AI generated cover, their party formation had changed with the forest backdrop behind.

This week, DerVVulfman updated his Point-Increasing Status Menu script, adding in a feature where custom resources can be placed within a pre-defined graphics subfolder of the game-creator's choice. The name of the folder need only be updated within the new configuration setting he had now added.

If you wish to use the capabilities of DerVV's Increasing Stats but want a system that you can access from a map event, an NPC, a pyramid obelisk, etc., then you may be interested in DerVV's Actor Stat Points Distributor. Not unlike the menu from Synthesize's Actor Customization in appearance, the menu lets you purchase upgrades to your character's stats from an event-triggered menu. As a bonus, the demo he included includes an additional script that will activate the menu for any specific actor whose level had increased, and will not let them exit until all spendable points have been used up.

Music and Audio

For those with games that need a feeling of dread, those who wish to see darkness fall, perhaps you need something by Eric Matyas. As he continues to Share His Original Music, a new composition emerges. Brief as it is, "Once Upon a Nightmare" may evoke surreal dread with the dull pattern of metal clangs forming a surreal cadence whilst hiding a faint intonation of strings. Whilst free, he still has Ogg versions of higher quality for sale, and tips appreciated.

Art and Design

For those who wish to venture with Starmage on her Arts and Training Journey, they may find along the way some fan art, whether it be a deadly feline from Remi-chan's or the female lead in thrilling conclusion of Arachne's Horror Anthology, Loneliness Butterfly. Along with that, the recent editions of Starmage's game coverarts make their appearance.
