I've noticed lately that there are a LOT of high-end Youtubers on either hiatus, going through old news/content, or are working on new videos and won't have anything for a while.

It's strange seeing my Subscription box full of old news by TheGamersJoint, who HAS to post twice a day, and a ton of ASMR videos. The ASMR community seems to be the only one extremely active right now, and now I'm temporarily immune to ASMR because of it 

My sub box is lonely, it wants some JonTron. It wants some PeanutButterGamer. It wants some Cynical rage videos!
Instead, it's a bunch of pretty ladies making sounds for a living. 

Oh well, I have work to get done anyway 

YouTube has changed, it's not as profitable anymore. One of my favourite german Let's Players was just talking about this in stream the other day. Last year, he was able to pay of all his Taxes from YouTube alone and still have some money. This year it's not even close. There's a reason a lot of them have started ways to get direct support by their fans.

JonTron releases the already-made StarCade videos like... once a month. He said he was making new content, last I heard, so my point still stands 
Unfortunate that Youtube isn't as profitable as before, but it's to be expected. Where was all of that money coming from? I know 50% of Youtubers don't even know where it comes from without googling where their partners or Youtube get it 

Anyway, I uploaded my first Birth By Sleep Final Mix video last night, and it got SLAMMED with copyright, got banned in Germany, all because I left in the Simple and Clean intro song. Youtube said they could remove the song for me, so I let them do their "Magic".
I checked back in 30 minutes, and they said they couldn't remove the song, and I'd get a strike if I didn't take the whole video down.

GEE, THANKS, YOUTUBE. 

Now I have to do another 14 hour upload...

YouTube itself just about breaks even from advertising. YouTube partners get a share of that, I've seen some myself so I know it works.

I just checked my analytics and adsense account - lifetime: $191.07 with a little over 92k total views across all my videos. Current balance: £55.21 which means I'm less than £5 away from my next Google cheque! :D

I can't monetize, because I have Tales of Phantasia gameplay videos on my channel. I considered making a second channel for my Tales videos to be exclusive on there so I could monetize on my current one, but neither my page nor my channel are big enough to be split into two already. 

I do qualify for partnerships, which would help my channel grow, but you need to monetize for partnerships, and again... the Tales problem 

Anyway, I've been looking into what Nintendo does for Youtube, and they take 40% of what Youtube gives to you after your partners took their cut, which is after Youtube gets their cut.
I feel bad for anyone who wants to make a living off of Nintendo videos. Their bad Youtube policy is why I'll be uploading all Nintendo games onto Facebook 

I'm currently in the process of re-editing my Birth By Sleep Final Mix video again, because I accidentally used the wrong raw file last time.

My conlang is complete enough I can do poetry in it. Here is an example of what I call box poetry:

My breaths
like soldiers
dashing and
[against] evil [I] speak out

Characteristic of box poetry, the number of lines is proportional to the number in each syllable.
In this example, there are four lines of four syllables each.
Although the last line is ambiguous as to whether it is the "I" that speaks out against evil, or that evil speaks out.
It's not poetry without some ambiguity.

A few things are on my mind right now!

Let's see now... Okay, let's start with...

1 - I decided to start uploading videos earlier than I need to post them, so I can avoid copyright troubles by seeing them days before I need to publish a video and fix anything before the day of.
It's been working for me pretty well, but it also means I have to do more work much quicker than before, and less nights I can actually do things that require internet.
However, once I've got a week or two ahead of uploaded videos, I can catch up on a lot of stuff without needing to worry about uploading things. That means more time for working on my game, more time to find pictures to post on my page, more time for interaction, and more time for... LOTS OF THINGS! 

2 - On Youtube, there are a LOT of trolls who just randomly demean you, or try to silence you for not having their opinions, or having an original one of your own.

Example:


Person 1's comment - "It seems more like a legitimate reaction, unlike how most youtubers do their "reaction" videos."

Person 2's comment - "stop talking like you're opinion matters f***ing f****t"

That's a real example, and this kind of thing is rampant, especially in TheGamersJoint videos. You can't comment a thing without being trolled or savagely attacked for absolutely no reason, and it's... lunacy. Absolute lunacy. 
Comment something, and you're likely to get someone commenting back "Stfu." for no reason at all. What did you do? Nothing, but they said it anyway.
You gave a suggestion on the next video? Be prepared for name-calling for absolutely no reason.
It's even worse when the Youtuber completely ignores this happening in their comments sections, and just moves on to the next thing. It just runs rampant onto the next video, where more savage trolls show up to do the same things. 
I almost never comment anything anymore on Youtube simply because of these people being everywhere, and I'm pretty sure if I say anything back, they'll just dislike all of my videos and run. 

3 - I started doing a bit of Throwback Thursday for my Facebook page, and people had no idea I posted such quality content at such a high rate over 2 years ago. 
Well. Now they do 
I still don't know how someone found a picture of mine from 2013 though, because they shared it as if it was new, and had no idea it was a 2013 post until I mentioned it o_o

Maybe Facebook is losing track of time and is giving really, REALLY old posts to people now...?

I was about to record some game footage, when I decided I should check to see if my laptop had any updates first.

I had 15 Windows updates and 2 driver updates available, and they all require multiple restarts to fully install.

Not like I had plans tonight anyway... 

Oh well, hopefully these updates help bunches!   

UPDATE: I think the latest updates increased startup time, because the restarts took literally 1 minute for each of them. (It does 2 restarts sometimes, depending on what the updates are)
Things have also opened up quicker than usual, so I think these updates did help!
