Texas Troopers Spot Armed Migrant Smuggler near Floating Buoy Barrier

A Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) drone operator spotted what appears to be an armed migrant smuggler guiding a group of migrants into the United States. The incident occurred in downtown Eagle Pass upstream of a floating buoy barrier that was put in place to prevent or divert migrant crossings. The footage captured by the drone operator shows the migrant smuggler carrying what the agency describes as a long gun as he guides a group of eleven migrants across the Rio Grande on Thursday.

The agency believes the rifle to be an AR platform, noting the similarity to a popular lightweight, small-caliber sporting rifle manufactured by ArmaLite, an American manufacturer.

According to a DPS spokesperson, the migrant smuggler returned to Mexico after guiding the group into the United States and was not arrested. The incident occurred north of Shelby Park, less than a mile from the city’s downtown area. Until recently, the park had been designated as private property under an agreement signed by the city’s mayor.

The agreement came under Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star border security initiative. The agreement resulted in migrants being jailed for criminal trespass after crossing the Rio Grande and entering the Shelby Park grounds. The charge of criminal trespass in Texas is considered a Class B misdemeanor and can carry a fine of up to $2,000 or up to 180 days of jail without enhancements.

Most migrants charged under the offense plead guilty and are later turned over to the Border Patrol to face administrative disposition of their immigration or asylum claims.

The action taken by the council comes as the Biden administration pursues legal action to force Governor Abbott to remove the floating barrier amid complaints from Mexico’s President Andres Lopez Obrador.

U.S. Citizen Used Fake Mexican ID to Get Deported to Avoid Human Smuggling Prosecution

This week, Chief U.S. District Judge Randy Crave sentenced 27-year-old Derly Cresencio Medina to nine years in prison and 48-year-old Jessica Dinora Pena Rodriguez to six and a half years for their role in coordinating dozens of human smuggling attempts between August 2021 and February 2023. Both human smugglers had pleaded guilty to various charges earlier this year.

According to information provided to Breitbart Texas by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, in December 2021, Medina picked up a group of seven migrants on the banks of the Rio Grande. U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested the group. Rather than face prosecution, Medina gave the agents a fake Mexican ID and passed himself off as a migrant. Federal authorities fell for the ruse and deported him to Mexico. Medina returned hours later through a port of entry using his real name.

Authorities arrested Medina and Pena in February 2023 as part of an investigation that began on May 23, 2022. The arrest occurred when U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a human smuggler moving a group of eight migrants. The smuggler led agents on a high-speed chase, court documents revealed. During the investigation into the case, authorities learned that the driver was being directed by phone by Medina and Pena.

Federal authorities revealed that both Medina and Pena were leaders in a cartel-connected human smuggling operation that moved hundreds of migrants into Texas, advertised their services on social media, had a network of stash houses, moved them past checkpoints deeper into the country, and funneled large amounts of money back to Mexican cartels.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams Considers Opening Migrant Camp in Central Park

Since the spring of last year, more than 95,000 border crossers and illegal aliens have arrived in New York City — costing local taxpayers at least $8 million every day. Just as rents have skyrocketed, migrants are sleeping on the streets as Adams has said “there is no more room.”

Now, Adams’ office has suggested that Central Park is among more than 3,000 locations where city officials are considering setting up camps and tent cities for migrants to live.

Other potential migrant camp locations include Prospect Park in Brooklyn and Randall’s Island, where children’s soccer fields may soon be shuttered so the city can house thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens in the area.

Adams is also set to start moving migrants into a recreation center in Brooklyn’s McCarren Park which sits in between the deeply liberal neighborhoods of Williamsburg and Greenpoint.

Meanwhile, Adams has started handing out fliers, available in English and Spanish, to border crossers and illegal aliens not yet in New York City, asking them not to travel to the sanctuary jurisdiction, citing the high cost of living, the lack of housing, and the strained public resources.

The High Cost of Crime: Oregon County Loses $1 Billion as Residents Flee Lawless Portland

Residents who fled Multnomah County, Oregon, in 2020 took over $1 billion in income as they searched for a better life in other areas.

The news is according to an analysis of data from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Oregonian reported Sunday.

The latest figures, based on income tax returns filed in 2020 and 2021, show that Multnomah County lost a net 14,257 tax filers and their dependents. The county’s resulting net income loss topped $1 billion for the first time in the decade that the IRS has tracked moving data.

The pandemic appeared to prod relatively higher earners — more likely to hold jobs that can be done remotely — to relocate than in pre-pandemic years. The average income of Multnomah County residents who moved away in 2020, the most recent figure available, was 14% higher than of those who moved the year prior, according to The Oregonian/OregonLive’s analysis.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Census found almost three percent of Portland’s population decided to leave between 2020 and 2022, the Wall Street Journal reported in June.

“The drop of about 17,400 to 635,000 was the sixth largest decline among the 50 largest cities,” the article said, noting that local leaders are now desperate to keep people from moving out.

Dershowitz: Jack Smith Could be Indicted for Fraud for Omitting Trump’s ‘Peaceful’ Statement

The indictment charges Trump with four counts, including “conspiracy to defraud the United States.” But in a portion recounting Trump’s speech at the “Stop the Steal” rally, Smith repeats the errors made by House Democrats in Trump’s second impeachment trial: he focuses on Trump’s use of the phrase “fight like hell,” and omits a sentence highlighted by Trump’s defense team: “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

Dershowitz told the Megyn Kelly Show podcast on Friday that by his own standard, Smith could be charged with fraud, because of his omission of Trump’s “peaceful” rhetoric.

“Under the indictment itself, Jack Smith could be himself indicted. He told a direct lie in this indictment. He purported to describe the speech that President Trump made on January 6th. And he left out the key words, when President Trump said, ‘I want you to demonstrate peacefully and patriotically. You know, a lie by omission, under the law, can be as serious as a lie by commission.”

The fact that Smith repeated the error of the House impeachment managers would appear deliberate, because these phrases were the crux of Trump’s Senate trial. Trump’s lawyers even played footage of Democrats using similar “fight” rhetoric, to show its common usage.

Notably, Smith did not charge Trump with incitement. But in his statement to the press, he claimed that Trump’s “lies” about the election caused the riot, all but making the claim of incitement.

Devon Archer: Hunter Biden Joined Burisma’s Board to ‘Legally Represent the Company’ in United States

Hunter Biden joined Burisma Holding’s board to “legally represent the company” in the United States, Devon Archer told Tucker Carlson during an interview released Friday.

Archer’s claims that Hunter was a legal representative of Burisma are important because IRS agent whistleblowers testified Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) violations were a part of the Hunter Biden criminal probe, warranting a special counsel. FARA specifies that Americans representing foreign entities must publicly disclose the representation.

Archer, Hunter Biden’s best friend in business, told Carlson that Burisma deployed the president of Poland to first attract Devon Archer to become a board member. After Archer accepted the board position, he began to get the impression Burisma invited him on the board due to his relationship with the president’s son, Archer told Carlson.

“And so what I did is I brought him [Hunter Biden] on board as counsel to legally represent the company and help them to basically have a firm in D.C. that would look out for their best interests,” Archer said.

In 2014, Archer and Hunter Biden both joined the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company with legal challenges, as it was under investigation for wrongdoing. In turn, Burisma paid Hunter Biden $83,000 each month to be a board member and provide the Biden brand.

According to IRS Agent Gary Shapley, the Justice Department investigated Hunter Biden for violating FARA while Shapley was on the case. “In my transcript, I do say there is a FARA issue at play,” he said.

“We are not a part of the investigation anymore,” IRS Agent Joseph Ziegler told lawmakers. “That’s our whole point of a special counsel.”

Niger: ‘Hostage’ President Calls for American Intervention in Washington Post Op-Ed

President Mohamed Bazoum of Niger, deposed by a military coup d’etat last week and believed to be trapped in his presidential residence, declared himself a “hostage” and in a Washington Post column published on Thursday asked for American intervention on his behalf.

The United States, France, and other Western allies have declared they do not recognize Tchiani and continue to recognize Bazoum, who was democratically elected in 2021, as the nation’s head of state. Secretary of State Antony Blinken last spoke to Bazoum on Tuesday, asserting that America “remains committed to the restoration of the democratically-elected government, consistent with the position of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the African Union, and international partners.”

In his appeal to the international community, and Washington in particular, Bazoum claimed that allowing the coup to succeed in his country would destabilize the entire world and embolden Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

“In Africa’s troubled Sahel region, Niger stands as the last bastion of respect for human rights amid the authoritarian movements that have overtaken some of our neighbors,” he continued. “While this coup attempt is a tragedy for Nigeriens, its success would have devastating consequences far beyond our borders.”

Bazoum claimed that Tchiani’s conspiracy could result in Russia controlling the Sahel “via the Wagner Group, whose brutal terrorism has been on full display in Ukraine.”

Audio allegedly of Prigozhin released last week indicated that he supported the Niger coup, though Tchiani and his allies have not publicly issued any statements of support for Russian or Wagner intervention.

Bazoum claimed in his column on Thursday to have made tremendous strides in the security situation in Niger, particularly in comparison to Mali and Burkina Faso, which experienced pro-Russian coups in the last two years.

Chinese Villagers Attack Communists Seeking to Flood Them to Protect Beijing

Reports and videos smuggled out of heavily flooded areas in Hebei, northeast China, this week indicate that villagers have spent much of their week defending their homes from Communist Party officials trying to flood them to redirect water away from Beijing and Xi Jinping’s pet project, the planned future metropolis of Xiong’an.

China has experienced an enduring wave of civil disobedience and outright anti-communist protest for nearly a year, when nationwide protests against the country’s “zero-Covid” policy of large-scale city lockdowns and mass imprisonment of patients in quarantine camps erupted in November. The protests succeeded in forcing the government of genocidal communist dictator Xi Jinping to “optimize” the policy to end the widescale lockdowns in the immediate future. The human rights organization Freedom House documented over 2,000 “dissent events” in China attracting at least 29,000 participants between June 2022 and April 2023.

The flooding is a result of the devastation caused by Typhoon Doksuri, which has worked its way along the northeast coast of China, endangering not just the capital but heavily populated areas such as the city of Tianjin and Heilongjiang province. As of Thursday, Communist Party officials estimated that 1.23 million people nationwide had been evacuated from their homes to save them from flooding.

The head of the Party in Hebei, Ni Yuefeng, wrote a message on social media this week stating that Zhuozhou, home to 600,000 people and one of Hebei’s most severely flooded areas, must “resolutely serve as a moat for the capital,” encouraging the deliberate flooding of his province to safeguard Beijing. Images of Zhouzhou dated Thursday showed water so high it nearly reached overhead highway signs.

A local Hebei official confirmed on state television this week that the situation in Zhuozhou is partly the result of the diverting of floodwater out of Beijing and towards the smaller city, according to a report published by Bloomberg.

part of the Ukrainian counter-attack?

The Kremlin believes that the poisoning was caused by cyanide pills and pesticides that were placed near the food plates.

Was this part of the Ukrainian counterattack? An official in Ukraine reported tonight (between Thursday and Friday) that two Russian officers were killed and 15 other servicemen were hospitalized after a "mass poisoning attack" that occurred during a festive event in the city of Mariupol.

Petro Andryushchenko, an adviser to the mayor of Mariupol in Ukraine, reported the incident on the Telegram app and wrote that "the poisoning was carried out by Ukrainian partisans while Kremlin forces celebrated Navy Day last Sunday." According to him, "During the celebration, the officers were poisoned in one of the military facilities."

The Kremlin believes that the poisoning was caused by cyanide pills and pesticides that were placed near the food plates. As a result, they claimed, 17 Russian servicemen were hospitalized in serious condition, and two other officers later died.

They also revealed that the poisoning was carried out by a group called "Y", which is part of the pro-Ukrainian resistance in Mariupol.
