Random Terrain Generation: RGSS
Have you ever played a game like Terraria, or Minecraft and thought to yourself... " Man I could make such an awesome game, if only I knew how to generate random terrain!"
Sadly I have :P I've been pondering over how this terrain generation works, So I've been tinkering and after some sleep, some weird programming dreams (I get those a lot) and some time off, I started a project and successfully generated a dirt biome, with Random sets of caves (as seen below):
In this WIP Tutorial, I'll be working along side you ever step of the way learning how to, then teaching you how to, generate Random Terrain With Multiple Biomes, ore Generation, Dungeon Generation, Structure Generation, and Vegetation Generation. I will be leaving each updates source, But I advise you to follow along the tutorial so you can learn with me. Also at the end of this tutorial we will be adding in other things to get a starter kit for a game.
I was originally going to do this in RGSS2... But the Bitmap class wouldnt allow me to generate a bitmap larger than the window, so I couldnt generate blocks outside of the screen.
The tutorials will be sectioned off like so: Tutorial 1: Title, Tutorial 2: title, etc. Each will come with the Appropriate Files (feel free to make your own though)
