RE: Minkoff's Animated Battlers - Enhanced - JayRay - 07-10-2015

is there a visual equipment script for this? Just curious...

Yeppers. Brenda's Visual Battlers is based on Me™'s Visual Equipment system... though a bit clumsily written. It can work with both the default system as well as Animated Battlers.

Hey, is there anyway I can use just the View Turns Addon, because currently it doesn't work when I try to use just that addon. Thanks for the help, and sorry if this was asked already.

Is that one in the Claihm (XRXS) battlesystem? If so, and you're not interested in the Animated Battlers system itself, you may find that you can search the database for Claihm scripts. It's been (gasp) two years.

However, I did not perform edits to the actual included software other than any configuration section. If any changes to someone else's scripts were made, they were performed by including a patch.

Bump to
version 12.3

I removed the long and drawn-out 'formations' system.  Rather than using a system, I use an extra script where I can plot out how I want my battlers to stand.  The forementioned 'Formation' patch is now available in the 1st page/post.

I also retooled the offset system which controls how battlers overlap one another when they attack.  Now it takes the battler's width into consideration, not just some configuration values.  I redid the offset configuration values, mind you.  It's pretty much complete by now.

Enjoy.

Hi, I've been searching for a way to reposition the actors. Where is the "extra script" you mentioned?

RE: Minkoff's Animated Battlers - Enhanced - DerVVulfman - 03-16-2016

Formations. It is in the spoiler below the Pre-Rendered Configs in the first page. With it, you can set up MULTIPLE formations which you can switch between.

But if you are using this system with the Golden Sun Battlesystem by Shockwave with this system, Formations will not work. Shockwave's system hardwires the traditional diagonal line formation to work with his camera pan and turn feature. [i]That is, if you want to use this with the Golden Sun system and have a Final Fantasy VII / VIII camera that rotates around behind the actors or enemies. REALLY COOL, but eliminates formations.

I'm not talking about formations. I thought you were saying you replaced formations with an "extra script" and made formations a separate script. Sorry for the confusion. What I was trying to ask was how to position the actors without formations. Thanks.

RE: Minkoff's Animated Battlers - Enhanced - DerVVulfman - 03-16-2016

Oh, yeah... History-wise, I was asked to add formations... yeeeeeeears ago. I added it and had it in the configs. But later decided.. Meh. It was just as easy to make a separate add-on just to re-position the actors. Hell... probably easier as you don't need to search through the whole config, just the new config within the add-on.

And FYI: Your post now upgrades you to 'Full Registered' Winking You now have access to your UserCP and etc.

Thanks for the quick reply.
So... where in the code does it position the actors? I just want to move them closer to the edge of the screen. For more details on what I'm trying to do, see my post on the rpgmaker.net forum.

Yeah, I wouldn't really get advise from a person who isn't familiar with the script, or RMXP in general.

In general, I would always advise reading all the instructions. I may get wordy, but I try to list everything. Think this is bad? I made .chm help file for the BIG ones.
