RE: RPG Maker VX Ace Lite - Free (but for how long?) - yamina-chan - 10-16-2012 Most of these can be worked with, if you make a small game only or if you use some tricks. 16 Items is quite a small number tough. As are 10 common events and a limit of 20 maps. This ought to leave you with some problems. Maybe. Then again, it is free, it is a Lite version and it also shall be used as further encuragement to get the actual programm. As much as I love the XP and am unwilling to trade it for the Ace, I like the challenge this provides. RE: RPG Maker VX Ace Lite - Free (but for how long?) - Yin - 10-16-2012 It's more than enough for entering contests and the like. Now they should make contests for people with Lite to win the full version lol. Too bad there's no script editing. I'm sure people will find a workaround for that. RE: RPG Maker VX Ace Lite - Free (but for how long?) - MetalRenard - 10-16-2012 Damn it really is very limited then. :/ RE: RPG Maker VX Ace Lite - Free (but for how long?) - Ace - 10-18-2012 The limitations are worse than the trial of VXAce, I think... RE: RPG Maker VX Ace Lite - Free (but for how long?) - kyonides - 10-18-2012 Perhaps the E company just want to promote the making of 5 minute-long (A)RPG's and nothing else, hehehe. Really, the features wouldn't convince many of preferring it and purchasing the full version. Probably most people will see an application that will never support all the features they're looking for in a game maker and will end up using other makers instead. RE: RPG Maker VX Ace Lite - Free (but for how long?) - Ace - 10-18-2012 For more than a 5 minute game it's really too limited. RE: RPG Maker VX Ace Lite - Free (but for how long?) - yamina-chan - 10-18-2012 I am not so sure about that. Yes, there are many limits indeed, but I would not deem it impossible to make something good with it regardless of that fact. RE: RPG Maker VX Ace Lite - Free (but for how long?) - KDC - 10-18-2012 I took a look-see, and here's what I found. You can't add characters, Items, Skills (although you want to), Items, weapons, Armor, enemies, Enemy Groups, States, Animations, tilesets (Dang it!), and Common Events (I dont' use Common Events much anyway.). You can add Elements and Types (a plus for anyone who has different or new weapons). You can still Import/Export like the full version. You can edit the Logos by exporting and importing them back in. The Character Generator's limited, unless you add some more. And you can't edit Scripts (but you can copy/Paste the ones on there into a Text File though, I tried it on the Logo Script.) That's all I seen so far. RE: RPG Maker VX Ace Lite - Free (but for how long?) - Ace - 10-18-2012 Maybe not impossible but I wouldn't use this for games^^ RE: RPG Maker VX Ace Lite - Free (but for how long?) - silversatyr - 03-26-2013 Actually, it's the same as the Trial version except with a few extras thrown in - a few more database numbers. Also, recently a competition was held for a full version where people had to make a complete game. There were about 20 all up and a quarter of them were well over 2 hours in length. It was pretty cool, especially since the while idea of the competition was just to make a game in 2 weeks, so it's very capable of making full games in. (Even I managed to make one with-in 24 hours that was about an hour long. I was a bit late to the party. ^.^; ) EDIT: Oh wow. So sorry! I didn't realise it was such an old topic! >.<; |
