Updates (Feb. 21, 10): Demo version 2.2 is up and running in the downloads. Here are the changes:
1) Made the "Bonehead" enemy move more spaces, as to make him easier to avoid
2) Fixed some movement bugs with some enemies. RMXP does this weird thing where if you have a scrolling map, any event with a singular, predefined movement would be placed on space off of where you placed the event in the editor.
4) Level 4 has been changed a little
5) 2 level transition maps have been added. Watch Tina as she moves between each level!
Check out some new screen shots, as well!
That's all for now.

STORY
Among the farthest reaches of the universe, there is a fairy-inhabited galaxy known as the Fairy Galaxy. Amongst this galaxy is a lush planet called Pix. The fairies that live there call themselves the Pixies, and they flutter about with their wings and enjoy a peaceful lifestyle. All of that is about to change.
One day, everything on planet pix seems to be like any other day, blissful and quiet. Suddenly, a dark haze envelopes the entire planet, blocking out the sun and covers the land with darkness. Several comets suddenly drop from this haze, crash-landing all over the planet.
Hostile creatures started to appear from the comets. They attack the citizens and wreak havoc wherever they go, sending this once-peaceful world into a panic. Up in the dark sky, a cloaked figure gazes upon the mayhem and laughs. The Space Demon, Sir Grimm of Darkness, has arrived to conquer the planet.
Among the violence caused by the monsters, a small, green-haired fairy rushes to a shrine. She bows down and makes a wish to the stars, her message became a star and flew off into space. Somewhere among the Fairy Galaxy, a space ship hovers slowly, carrying a sleeping, white-haired fairy wearing pink boxing gloves and a star-stubbed tank top. Suddenly, the ship sounds an alarm, awaking the fairy abruptly. The alarm has detected a wish to a Galaxy Warrior, and a planet is in deep trouble. This young warrior's name is Tinabom, and she sets her ship to warp speed to travel to the planet Pix.
While this little fairy doesn't really know what she has to do yet, she has a feeling that she is about to do something big for her small size.
CAST
Tinabom "Tina" Halley
Age: 130 (Equivalent to about 13 or 12 in human years) Species: Star Fairy
Tinabom Halley was originally a denizen of planet Pix. She possessed a rare elemental property called the "Star Element", giving her the ability to absorb the power of stars in the universe. Recently, she enlisted herself as a Galaxy Warrior, an interplanetary militia whose job is to protect the galaxy from destructive forces, such as Lord Grimm. She currently undergoing training until she has met the qualifications in becoming a true Galaxy Warrior.
Tina has an optimistic view of the world, and she tends to care little about what other people think of her. Since she was a little fairy, she was obsessed with punching people and pulling pranks. She can also be very brash and disobedient, even to the higher authorities in her Galaxy Warrior division. Regardless, she has a caring heart, and can't stand it when she witnesses injustice. Ultimately, Tina's goal is to make sure that there is peace in the universe.
Dori O. Rion:
Age: 120 (about 12 -11) Species: Grass/Woodland Fairy
Dori is an orphan fairy who lives on planet Pix. Her parents were interplanetary adventurers who, due to a tragic accident, lost their lives while away from their home planet. Since then, she developed a very withdrawn personality and is overly emotional. She is often teased by other fairies due to her sheepishness. When push comes to shove, however, she does show signs of courage.
Dori was the only fairy to call upon the Galaxy Warriors when Lord Grimm invaded the planet. Unfortunately, she was captured and imprisoned by Grimm just as soon as the message was sent. She has always desired to have a friend, will her wish ever come true?
Lord Grimm:
Age: He's been around since the beginning of life Species: Space Demon
It's a mystery as to where Lord Grimm originated from, or what he really is. All that is known about him is that he was originally meant to be a creator of Tina's galaxy, but was turned away due to his evil influence.
Grimm tends to hate everything that is not his own creation, and feels great pleasure when those other creatures suffer. He wants to rule the galaxy and replace existing life with his own, creating monsters to do his bidding.
Now, he is targeting the planet of Pix, sending his beastly creations to take over the planet and remove the fairy race. Can you stop him?
MONSTERS
NORMAL GAME Fool Ghoul:
Slow in both movement and thinking, Fool Ghoul is considered one of Grimm's worst creations. It floats gently around the area, going wherever it pleases. When Tina is powered up, it will start running away like a coward.
Bonehead:
This creature looks like a skull with glowing, yellow eyes and two legs attached to the bottom of its head. It moves just as slow as Fool Ghoul, yet it is smart enough to follow wherever Tina goes.
Marty:
Marty looks like a bat with two horns and a single eye. Because it is flying, it can pass any block. Movements can vary, though predictable.
Wheelin:
An enemy that resembles a wheel with an angry look on its face. It moves quite fast, yet only in one direction.
Bon:
Bon looks like a smiling head covered in flames. It moves a little bit faster than Fool Ghoul or Bonehead. Once in a while, it will get tired and take a nap.
Targit:
Targit looks like a target symbol with a face. He exists only in the bonus level of the game. Smash away!
Perforato:
If you run out of time in a level, all remaining monsters will transform into this spiked creature. It is invincible, and comes at you fast. To put it short: if you see this monster, you are done for!
CHALLENGE GAME Imi
Replaces "Fool Ghoul" in the Challenge Mode game. This gooey cyclops slithers around the field baring a blank stare. It's not much faster when compared to Fool Ghoul or Bonehead, but it changes direction much more erratically.

DORI'S ADVENTURE
-COMING SOON!-
HOW TO PLAY
>Arrow Keys/Joystick: Move Tina around the field.
>Action Button: Punch (Only when Tina has collected all of the stars on the field).
>"A" Key (or whatever you assigned to be button "X" in the configuration window): Pause the game.
The entire progression of this game is level-based. The goal of each level is to kill all of the monsters and move to the next.
Before you try to kill these monsters, however, you need to collect items called "Sparkling Stars". At this point, any monster can touch you and you will loose lives, but if you collect all the sparkling stars in the level, you will become "Powered Up", and be able to turn the tables on those beasts by punching them.
Once a monster is punched, they will be launched towards the direction the player is facing. Once that monster is defeated, a coin will appear, giving you points if you touch it.
Every level (except the bonus and the boss level) has a timer. The amount of time depends on the level. The player must collect the stars and defeat the monster before this time runs out, otherwise the remaining monsters will transform into the "Perforato" enemy and will kill you.
I'm planning for a total of 7 levels. One level, being the third, is a "bonus level". This level will be where the player can kill as many randomly appearing monsters as possible, to improve his/her score. That level ends when the timer reaches zero. The final level is the only boss level in the game, where you fight Sir Grimm himself.
Ratty on RRR Wrote:Instead of repeating the same mini game where you smash as many monsters as possible, I decided to do something different for the bonus level that comes after level 4.
A puzzle idea that was implemented in games such as Kirby and Bomberman. The object of this game is to break the blocks so that the blocks remaining would form a given shape, which is a star in this case.
If you try to break a block that is necessary to make the shape, the mini game ends and you get nothing. I'm considering an alternative result so that the punishment won't be as harsh, however.
If you do break the correct blocks, you will receive a wallop of points and an extra life.
At the moment I'm STILL working on the hand-drawn intro and considering on making the shapes of this mini game random as oppose to just a star.
I'm surprised. :) I knew that it wasn't just another LOLZ GURLS game given the detail you put into this, but an arcade-style platform/puzzle game? Sweet.
I've been making serious projects before making joke games, but I guess my jokes were a lot more well known then my attempts at making serious games. :P
Being tired of working on "full" games, I decided to keep working on this game, which was originally for a short games contest.
Yep, Ratty's actually taking this game seriously, he started it for RPGM's mini game contest and didn't submit it because he wanted to finish it properly.
Sporky Wrote: That looks interesting Ratty! I love the artwork... Is that the Breeze sprites? First game I've seen them look great in
The tileset (except for one set that I'm making) are breeze tilesets. The charactersets were made by me, however, using the same types of color palettes that were part of the Breeze characters/tilesets. That was done so that they would match.
Quote:New Title text design
At first I was against using the text tool, but it was cleaner to do so. After some research I was able to find a font I like, so now feast your eyes on this comparison!
Old...
NEW!
The title text isn't all I've changed. The lives/timer display has changed as well!
Lotsa Screens
The cleanliness, the beauty! You cannot resist such a sight?
In addition, a new bonus game after level 4.
After the fourth level, you be transported to a random map. Each map requires a different shape to be made. There are a total of 4 possible maps for now.
All screenshots will be added to the first post. Stay tuned for more updates!
