That's why I prefer using Linux. My files almost never get corrupted by anything.
Now I'm developing a game in Gosu (C extensions for Ruby to make any basic videogame from pure RB files) and Chingu (Rubygem that extends Gosu in several ways). I guess that with some patience anyone with experience in Ruby or RGSS (and a bit of Ruby) can make an RPG with those tools. It runs in Ruby 1.8.x and 1.9.x
