Honestly my suggestion for your first game is to not push yourself to release anything. Calm down, get used to all the functions of XP first. Create a short 'test' thing for yourself. You can always polish and build on it later if you like the idea you came up with. Test out a few scripts (or even a but of scriptING), figure out what events to in combaination. Figure out cool mechanics on paper and then try to translate them into events.
That kind of free, experimental approach will be far more valuable to you as a first game-making experience than limiting youself and trying to please a couple folk on the internet.
