First thing that comes into my mind. The battlers are standing in the air. Get a matching background or put them somewhere it looks natural.
The characters seem a bit cliché. Their life stories seem to have been done before in other games, they are all very young (14 is extremely young) and the unknown age thing is also a bit old. It is like this in very many projects nowadays. I'm not saying you should trash your characters, just add some more originality and remove some of the clichés. :)
My tips:
- Make at least some of the heroes older. How about 40-50-60? The twenties is pretty young, and with no "Wise and experienced" guys they'll have a problem.
- Have less heroes, with as many as seven heroes it is hard to make all of them interesting, and they may end up being personality-less. Start out making the, how about four most important characters. Give them lots of features and personality traits. Then make the less important ones later. After all, these require less detail ;)
The story seems kinda cool. But it might need some rewriting. (Not the storyline, but the summary in your post). Make it a bit more catchy and action packed.
Awesome title screen mate, your windowskin too ;D
Your mapping could need some improvement. When making forests, use lots of time. Use all the different flowers, mushrooms, stones, etc. and use it all over. Just make sure it look asymmetric.
For the inside mapping, like that castle screenshot. Make the room smaller, place the walls closer to the middle. Smaller rooms look better and are easier to map. Avoiding making the room a square is also a good idea.
The stairs mark a higher part of the floor, but the floor on the sides of the stairs goes the same. Put some walls there or something.
This looks promising, it just needs some work ;)
