Because there's no other kind of unexpensive cellphone available at their stores... 
I HATE GOOGLE!! Now that I have no cellphone, it doesn't let me open my email account from another device! How am I supposed to work or contact anybody if those stupid guys design a system that just blocks your account, no matter if you're the legitimate account owner?
