I would support those reform for they'd mean we Costa Ricans won't be dealing with the Mara Salvatruchas anymore.
For all those Americans enduring them... my sympathies!

Down here in Costa Rica we have the Crucitas affair, a real issue that has been getting awkward since some stupid Oscar Arias signed some decrees that first declared mining activities in Crucitas, San Carlos as of public interest and later forbid it (or the next president did it for him). Did he provide a solution for the very same problem he caused? Did Laura Chinchilla fix it? Or did Luis Guillermo Solís do anything to ease tensions? Not even current president Carlos Alvarado has done anything to stop this madness.

It's been about a bit less than 2 years since the conflict began and the so called miners steal our gold and rob stores in San Carlos. Some of them have even hurt Costa Rican citizens. Most of the illegal miners are Nicaraguan.

Yeah, robberies have been on the rise in San Carlos since 2015 at least.

When one or two of them were shot down by the police, after the illegal miners had burned a small police station, Nicaraguan president Ortega complained about such "abuse of power". A similar reaction reached the newspapers when traffickers disobeyed the Costa Rican police and opened fire on them. =_= I guess he never learned about irony or he's just an idiot.

So I wonder if that's the kind of mess you need to promote in the US with such a weird immigration reform.
