Paris "can't sleep" any longer, covid-19 is on the rise and bars with all of their happy patrons will be punished in order to curb its viral growth. Their announcement on Sunday might make this sad reality come true.

According to Mr Véran, more than 30% of beds in Paris's intensive care units have been filled with Covid-19 patients.
He warned that if the maximum alert was put in place, there would be no more family reunions and bars would be closed. Bars and restaurants in the region already have to close by 22:00.

Just in case you ever thought you could still meet your parents or siblings at will because you're no drinker, you better think it twice.

Three investigations are underway and a nurse has been fired since the video emerged early this week.
The woman, Joyce Echaquan, streamed her treatment on Facebook shortly before her death.

Turkey and Greece set up military hotline amid energy tensions

Turkey and Greece have set up a military hotline in a bid to reduce the risk of clashes in the Mediterranean, where the two are locked in a row over energy resources and maritime borders.
The move was announced by the Nato military bloc, of which both countries are members.
Tensions rose this year when Turkey sent a research ship to a disputed area.
It comes as EU leaders met to discuss the bloc's thorny ties with Turkey.
Turkey has been a long-term candidate for membership of the European Union but efforts have stalled, with EU leaders criticising Turkey's record on human rights and the rule of law, in particular in the wake of the 2016 failed military coup.

Will the EU be able to solve this dispute? Err, I do think it's highly unlikely since Russia supports Turkey.

NY Times reviews Caliphate podcast amid source 'hoax' charge

The New York Times has been forced to scrutinise its reporting on Islamic State (IS) in a popular podcast about the terror group, after a source was charged with lying about his experience.
Canadian Shehroze Chaudhry, 25, was arrested by police on Friday, and stands accused of hoax-terrorist activity.
Mr Chaudhry was a key voice in the Times' Caliphate series.
Police allege he made up his story.
Questions over Mr Chaudhry's tales of the Islamic State first emerged after he gave interviews to Canadian and American news outlets with contradictory information.

Alexei Navalny blames Vladimir Putin for poisoning him

Germany, where Mr Navalny is recovering, says he was poisoned by a Novichok nerve agent. Its findings were confirmed by labs in France and Sweden.
The Kremlin denies any involvement.
Responding to the interview on Thursday, Mr Putin's spokesman said there was no evidence that Mr Navalny had been poisoned with a nerve agent, and said CIA agents were working with the opposition leader.

A Philadelphia reporter said he walked right into an elections warehouse Thursday, a day after reports that someone had stolen USB drives used to program the city's voting machines from the same facility.
There were no security guards at the door or surveillance cameras visible, according to Max Marin, an investigative journalist at WHYY's Billy Penn news site, who shared video and photographs from his adventure to Twitter Thursday afternoon.
The thumb drives and a laptop went missing sometime this week, but exactly when remains unclear, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Wednesday.
“We are confident that this incident will not in any way compromise the integrity of the election,” a spokesman for City Commissioner Lisa Deeley told the paper.

How exactly can you claim it won't compromise it? This is especially worrisome when we recalll they DON'T KNOW when they've stolen the thumb drives!
