Football Lockout

Am I the only one who thinks this is absolutely rediculous? I think football players, and most other athletes, are already paid an insane amount of money and now they're fighting over more?

I love football. I don't think they need any more cash. Maybe health benefits, but not cash. Same goes for politicians. I think government jobs should be an elected volunteer position.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a die hard broncos fan :) I just think the paychecks are rediculous.

I think instead of 100 million for 4 years, it should be more like 2 million a year for 45 years, that way they have a paycheck until retirement, and on that amount of money there is no reason they can't afford health insurance. It's supposed to be doable for the rest of america making 30k a year...

On another note, I also think all athletes should be pumped full of steriods to see how fast they can go :) they get paid enough for a little risk....

The lockout is being caused because the NFL owners are making (in some cases) hundreds of times more than the athletes. Then, they say that they are going to extend the season from 16 to 18 games so that the owners can make even more money. Most athletes aren't asking for more money, they're asking for better retirement healthcare (for the many concussions and broken knees) and not to play 2 extra games and have an even greater risk for injuries. I have to side with the players on this one (the one's not asking for more money).
