Apotheosis 379
#11
I have been thinking long and hard about this... and I am abandoning the Apotheosis project as it stands. However, understand that I didn't come to this decision lightly. Here are my reasonings...

1. After discussing the storylines and such with my wife, We together felt that this particular storyline did not co-incide with our praise of God, and thought the subject matter could borderline on blasphemous. Some of you may scoff at my reasoning behind this, but understand that this game story delved into deep religious and philosphical dilemnas that i wasn't really prepared to delve into at this time.

2. While I am firmly behind texturing the project from stem to stern, I found that I was doing all my texturing ineffeciently, and because of such, the entire system was being bogged down with a lot of junk that slowed down game-play on my dinosaur of a computer, and feel I need a fresh new perspective on a game design.

3. While I DO love a good zombie adventure, I love science-fiction stuff much more, and feel that a sci-fi game, or dystopia modern game would do me good to create. I started a project a while back called Beta Origins that I think I will re-hash, using the same engine that I started apotheosis with, and maybe I can create a city with the same aspiriations that I had before.

4. While I still would like to create a finished game in RMXP, I have recently become enthralled with 3d game design, to the point of finishing my FAFSA and am now waiting on letters from local community colleges and online courses to take me to those levels of game design.

Good for you, man. Both for holding to your convictions and for pursuing something you love. Keep at it.
