Man, I may be forever sealing myself into the identity of "social recluse" by saying this, but I had to wiki this Lady Gaga chick. I'd heard the name being thrown around a lot, but I didn't really know who that was, beyond some singer. Well, I guess now I know.
Can't say I'm terribly enchanted with her music or her fashion sense, but I respect the work she does in the LGBTQ (+more letters if necessary) community, and her efforts in charity.

I've been listening to Blind Melon all day. I'm thinking Smashing Pumpkins after that. probably machina 2.

I think the lyrics are important. They tells a lot about the character of the artist, which i think is pretty important.

Ratatat - Shempi (E*Rock Remix)
okay, so it's not the original. I sped up the remix and messed around with it a little. thinking I might use it for something. I think it turned out pretty well; Ratatat's music is unique in that no matter what you do to it, it'll always have that particular flavour of theirs.
if you're curious,
this is the original remix, before I completely mawked it up. it's nice, although I've heard the sped up version enough that it sounds weirdly slow to me.
the original Shempi is itself
kicking rad. it is essentially my theme song. if ever I am being contemplative over the death of a mentor,
I believe Shempi will begin to play. if ever I bust through a wall because I have to attend an action scene on the other side, I believe the mawked E*Rock remix will begin to play. if only because I would have had the forethought to bring my ipod with me.
Multifaros - Square
it's a great chiptune. what more is there to say? if ever I am square and two-dimensional, I believe this will begin to play as I stand in place and wait for whatever's standing opposite to take its turn.
K-OS - Sunday Morning
is a very mellow song. K-OS' instrumentation is simple demented genius, even if his lyrics often leave something to be desired.
mawk, I should have known you'd listen to Ratatat. I have a couple of their albums, but I don't care for them much.
Today I picked up Norah Jones' first record, Come Away With Me. It's great chill stuff with impressively and tastefully done guitar work. Seven Years has an awesome slide solo in it.
Good stuff.
Oh yes, today I listened to The Queen and the Soldier by Suzanne Vega. Pretty song, which tells an interesting story.
