Hi, Small games made in the various RPG Makers prior to RPG MV, which has its own somewhat complicated, method of transferring games to Android devices, are ideal for Android devices. I have even run some of mine on an Android smart phone, although screen size does tax the eyesight when reading text!
Using EasyRPG most RPG 2000 and 2003 games I have made run well. Although some, for no apparent reason, do not. It is a matter of trial and error. I have enclosed a photo of Gandalf, made in RPG 2003, running on a 10 inch screen Android tablet.
Using Joiplay most RPG XP and RPG Ace games I have made run well. Although the system doesn't like drawing upon scripts that draw upon external text, such as EST Notebook. There may be a workaround, but I haven't discovered it as yet. I have enclosed a photo of Rogue Crew, made in RPG Ace, running on a 10 inch screen Android tablet.
This seems to open up a new use for RPG Maker games to be used on tablets and smart phones on train journeys etc.
Has anyone else experimented with this and, if so, what were the successes and pitfalls to avoid?
