Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette!  Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
  Announcements and Updates
With RMRK closing, DerVVulfman is still focused upon the recreation of that vanishing site's content.  With the RPGMaker XP scripts finished, he has begun work upon the duplication of every RPGMaker VX script that could be saved. And while the engine itself is hardly used, the RPGMaker VX scripts comprised the lion's share of RMRK's library.

  Occasions
bstaghare is no stranger to the RPGMaker line, having dabbled with some games back in the late 90s.  But now he has some programming skills under his belt and joined the forum with an interest in returning to game development. And after greetings by DerVVulfman, he may be looking into some classic RPGMaker games.

  General Chat
Game development seems to be part and parcel on the mind of our members. Currently, Orcolem is stalking sites on the internet like any practical resource hunter in an endeavor to make a character creation system. And not long after setting his PC back to Windows, KDC is encountering some unexpected hiccups but has taken no chances and backed up his game development projects.

What's up when an RMer has been engrossed into a webcomic of his own design?  Simple! Make a piece of software that that is a tie-in to the online work.  Right now, kyonides announced he plans to make a courtroom trial-based script, and included a couple of screenshots from his projected work.

It was a while back when someone noted that he could not transfer his game and all its scripts to the Hiddenchest executable by kyonides. However, no fault existed with either the user or the Hiddenchest system.  And after some investigation, DerVVulfman released the RUBY 2.0+ PATCH FOR THE RMXP SDK 2.0+. When the RMXP SDK was created, the version of Ruby engaged was more lax in structure and the SDK's automated window-update method returned a different format of variables that was not accounted for with Ruby 2.0 or later.  DerVVulfman's patch takes care of this minor structural issue.

Sometimes less is more. And if you were working on a scene with characters that needed to remain fixed for a scene, you need not have a characterset with actual animations.  If you needed such a graphic with characters facing away from the player and screen, the Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V now has a number of his desert dwelling citizenry set up in a single graphic for reverend attendence in a temple, watching a movie in a cinemahouse, or other such scenes.

Things get hot at City Hall as fairies protesting the destruction of their homes occurs while Kayzee's Ordeal continues in prison. The mysterious frost sorceress from Japan gave her long distance beau a chilly reception in a scene that proves hospital food still sucks. And a hot-shot lawyer has come to town. How does this bode for our fae in the clink?

Well, that's it for this week.

Announcements and Updates
Though RMRK is closing, DerVVulfman worked to recreate the last of the resources he could save within the forum's archive of that decades old site. After completing as much of the recontruction as he did, DerVVulfman revealed the archive for all members to have access, with only the completed boards and XP and VX script subforums incomplete. But by the end of the week, all completed games that could be saved from RMRK was restored.

Formerly a lurker for some time, Obscure Zone have chosen to finally make an account. Versed in many of the RPGMaker Engines, both old ane new, Obscure Zone has now chosen to work on a Megami Tensei-styled game after years of making comical shorts that were useful fo skill honing.

Hailing from Brazil is Orcolem. A user of Godot, he's traveled through the web to find our site in his search of graphic resources.

When does relaxing with some games becomes tedium? Online games may have daily or weekly quests. But becoming bogged down by the dailies in the various MMOs that KDC is on his mind., and going from game to game makes him feel stuck in a rut.

Continued work and desert shenanigans happen to be What's up with the RMer named Ace_V. He has already shown a scene with a giant mech crashing into a desert town, but now revealed that he has made a large amount of progress upon the town's major quest. He still has a few more maps to work out, but will soon be done with the desert area.

Complete Projects
Not even a week in the forum, and already GeneStoneGames posted a new game within our completed projects board. GeneBloom is a friendly little game where you play a florist, growing and hybridizing the best and most beautiful while taking care of the pests that could run rampant in your greenhouse. A colorful game with all the artwork personally handcrafted as GeneStoneGames made the game solo.

Upcoming Projects
WIth his PC back in operation, KDC happily proclaims that the development of Memorie is no longer on standby. Work will be slow as usual, but he has plans for video updates and to take more notes on future plans than just keeping the ideas in his noggin.

Ah, love. It is not one of life's sweet mysteries? One may question that after seeing Kayzee's Ordeal to think it also one of life's sweet miseries. Lawyers whom appear to represent our caged fae have uncovered doctored photographs with the image of the woman hospitalized during the Fantasy convention, and what appears to be a cursed marriage arranged. But not all is being uncovered in Kayzee's favour, a rival for her affections has arrive from Japan. And what, pray tell, stinks in how Kayzee is treated behind bars?

  Announcements and Updates
Since he told the guys working on the Refugee site for RPGMaker Webs that they had till September before he deleted the temporary zip files, DerVVulfman continued working on the RMRK Archive before it closes.  He's been pushing forward, creating a new board for multi-platform works, and finishing all script forums except for RPGMaker VX's.  He's now working on Resources, having already uploaded its Tools and Audio subforums. However, the battlers section gave him a shock when one thread alone required nearly 100 individual images to be saved and archived.

  Occasions
New members have appeared this week, one being GeneStoneGames who admits he's mostly going to lurk while focusing on cozy little games.

In search of RPGMaker VXAce threads came Funny_frog_lover who was thrilled to see the work at creating the vast archives of forgotten forums. Unlike his artistically inclined members, he is an Eventer whose had experience dating back to the earlier RPGMaker 2003 era.  And with our forum's archives and the recovered scripts therein, he can continue working on his side-scrolling platform.  Oh, and he loves the frog emotes that kyonides created with the Bread-emote style.

  General Chat
The current downpours and the reworks performed to comic panels in his online comic was on the mind of kyonides this week, having reworked a number of images in his previous chapter. Encouraging and instructing AI to generate content that fit his narrative than the generator's assumptions was a challenge.

Revisions and realizations in desert warfare appeared to be What's up with Ace_V after reading DerVVulfman' critique of the building-sized mech that appeared going through the city walls. Once he tweaked the battledroid with thinner line art, he presented it with a better screenshot appearance.

For those wondering about the development of Devil's Redemption, fear not.  For this week, krayedon stated she still had all the resource content, and development was merely on hold.

Under arrest and being driven to police headquarters, and worst of all, to be thrown into a bottle by a guy who reembered playing The Legend of Zelda series. Kayzee's Ordeal continues as Detective Mueller wants answers. But the investigation has literal dead ends as the body in the holding cell demonstrates. What caused the city-wide blackout? And what has just appeared in Melissa's hospital room?

This week DerVVulfman not only continued working to copy all he can as RMRK is closing, but began creating an archive board for its threads before it closes. He remarked that he already recreated all the RPGMaker MV scripts he could save, and is roughly halfway through the RPGMaker VXAce material as well.  He added that some of the content he found allowed him to restore some threads posted in Save-Point that had perished in the past from dead links..

  General Chat
This week, if you were to ask DerVVulfman What he was YouTubing, he was celebrating the restoration of some dead script links. And with that, he had a bit of a party.

The moment she acquired it via Steam, krayedon began Playing Oblivion!, and with its newer 2026 character creator crafted her khajiiti in-game persona. Her feline character's eyes were stark white which made DerVVulfman think it already turned into a vampire. Sadly, the game got corrupted, and krayedon had to uninstall the game.

Perhaps it was because it was a version transferred away from HiddenChest, but DerVVulfman received two bug reports for his Faetal Night project revealing opacity and missing panorama issues.  But once received, the issues were immediately addressed.

Last week, kyonides introduced us to his web comic that began with crime scene and a cash payment for a possible coverup. But this week, Kayzee's Ordeal continues as the police take her downtown for blood sample tests and collect traces of her fairy dust after a girl is stabbed at the fantasy convention she was attending.  But who was the stranger that accosted her, and who just happened to show up when the detective's car broke down?

Well, that's it for this week.

Sunday was the day, the last day of the 2026 Game Jam. AVGB-KBGaming reported that her game was to be uploaded while MetalRenard sought to know if any other entries were pending.

Today we bid farewell to Remi-Chan who left in protest over members using AI to generate personal content, and that her demand the forum outright ban any AI content was not obeyed. She deleted creativity content and her threads pulled. She stated the forum will die as a result of AI users despite the forum does have specific rules.

Is that a giant mech? That's something you don't see every day in a war torn desert town. At least, that might be something to ask if you were inquiring What's up? to Ace_V and his current game. But DerVVulfman felt the mech needed some artistic work to prevent clashing styles.

Complete Projects
At times, fan games will receive fan art. But with Rave Heart+ (RELEASED), such works are on a whole 'nother level. A commissionn by BerryB, the appearance of Count Vorakia by by amanouti, a nobel warrior of a dragonkind race weilding a bladed polearm is a feast for the eyes.

A minor update was made to Arden Inc, the result of a missing file reported. But the file missing was for content that appeared upon finishing the trials forced upon you by the pig of a boss.

Upcoming Projects
To his surprise, DerVVulfman discovered that Faetal Night could not be played by users of Windows 11. An issue with HiddenChest he did npt forsee as kyonides is a user of Windows 11, DerVVulfman had to re-release it with the RPGMaker XP engine.

There are many fans of BlueSkies 3 by Starmage. And with that, plenty of works comemorating her game have appeared. One that made its appearance this week was a line-art sketch of Count Sagan and his demonic half-skull mask by Inazuma the lightning. But not long after, one of Blue Skies 3's own creatives appeared thanks to a commission by BerryB. And with that, Candace can be seen against the night sky, illuminated in shades of azure and heliotrope by a glowing gem floating above her hands.

In a realm plagued with Fantasy RPGs comes a game that looks at the last three letters and says "SCREW THAT!" Fæ Fantasy; A... is a game by AVGB-KBGaming that harkens back to the side scrolling battle games from the 90s. Perform saber slashes, or strike from above with a leaping kick. Though no download or screenshots are available, it appears that our Anarchist Femme Gamer is re-envisioned games like Bad Dudes or Double Dragon in Fae Fashion.

General Support
Some weeks ago, Rose Guardian had issues with RPG Maker MZ not deploying games when the exclude unused files option is checked, and DerVVulfman suggested a tool while stating it was an issue that has existed with RPGMaker MV as well. However, Coyotecraft noted he had similar issues and stated that the issue could also be based on the filename length, stating there is an unspoken character length to the filename and paths that could be read. And it could be the source for the file-not-found issue encountered.

RPGMaker XP (RGSS) Engine
Roughly two decades ago, a Japanese scripter known as Claihm created a battle script that required the player to press a combination of keys when it is time for their spells to be cast lest their power be cut in twain. Indeed, he made a script where the Konami Code "Up Up Down Down Left RIght Left RIght" could be a requirement to cast a fireball. But it was not enough for DerVVulfman, and after much consideration was released Tactical Input Attacks. Unlike the original, one could assign such key code requirements to weapon attacks. And along with that, DerVVulfman stated theat most anything that was hard-coded was now within the already existing configuration module, and performed a repair or two.

As communities thrive, the individuals within may find security and comfort on one shape or another. So to does this basic philosophy extend to those Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V he has recently created. And this week, his desert dwelling characters now have a member of wealth, garbed in robes of Sapphire and Crimson, and a turban with a central ruby in their midst. Is he a Sultan or Emir? Its he a rich merchant who trades in silks from the east? This depends on how he would fit your game. Ace_V later made a statement that it is forbidden for AI services from scraping what is his content. Sadly, DerVVulfman pointed out that AI scraper botss would just barrel through sites and would copy it anyway.

There was a shadow over the city, a shadow that spread across the Pacific. A femme fatale of the fae fashion left for the shores of Hawaii, and only then did a murder take place that began Kayzee's Ordeal. An illustraded story produced with Gemini AI by kyonides with Kayzee The Fairy as a central figure and suspect of a murder investigation. Do you trust your eyes when you see the actions of the blonde sylph in green within the full color pages?

Well, that's it for this week.

Get ready, for the 2026 Game Jam has begun. Originally to be a one-week event where participants were given the opportunity to make a game in a four-day window, the Game Jam itself has been extended till next Sunday the 16th. A game jam where one should focus on nature or the fae and have the Save-Point logo appear somewhere within, the first entries have appeared; Arden Inc by Pherione and MetalRenard, Faetal Night as a first chapter release by DerVVulfman, and Devil's Redemption as a current work by kraedon.

General Chat
Confusion and comical apprehension was on the mind of kyonides when he saw an unexpected shot of DerVVulfman. However, DerVVulfman offered no explanation.

Of course Save-Point is an indie game development forum. However, if history is your thing, then kyonides found something for You Can YouTubing with the history of one of the most popular Fighting Arcade games from the 90s.

Tech Talk
This week, Artificial intelligence hit the News of the Cyber World as a chatbot was taken down for mocking a Democrat candidate that Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi endorsed, a chatbot set up by a fellow Democrat running for the same office. Meanwhile, a recent poll showed that 60% of US citizens approve of stronger oversight of social media companies.

Games Development
Development Discussion
Replacements for the RPGMaker engine appears to be What's up with, RMers? as kyonides announced his work on HiddenChest's executable, adding the ability to read two controllers at the same time for head-to-head gameplay. For this, he had to perform some changes to a full key script he previously released. However, both Ace_V and Mel were in awe over Son_Rukiri's RPGMaker Editor and its capability to expand the number of map layers at will. Still, DerVVulfman was curious if it could work with Linux as kyonides's replacement.

Complete Projects
If you think your job is a mess, be glad you don't work for the pig of a boss at Arden Inc. The new game for the 2026 Save-Point Game Jam by Pherione and MetalRenard, you are a Fairy in training having to perform odd jobs on demand. A mini-game laden game that keeps score throughout, it has a music score by MetalRenard himself.

Upcoming Projects
Just beginning this week is Devil's Redemption, a game by krayedon that is the first posted in our forum using RPG Paper Maker. Like any game in its early stages, gameplay and graphics may change during development.

Released for the forum's 2026 Game Jam, DerVVulfman posted Faetal Night. A game that tells the tale of a heroic journey into the realm of the Fairies, DerVVulfman revealed that he stuck with the four-day window that barely gave him time for the opening sequence of events and gameplay.

Material Development
Tools
This week, kyonides put out a pre-release edition of the HiddenChest RGSS Player Executable. Though only a Linux build is available, it has a newer version of Ruby, while repairing a bug that existed in prior version 3.0 releases of Ruby. Other features such as the ability to recognize two controllers for head-to-head gameplay, updates to the sound system and more have also been included in the Linux edition.

Scripts Database
HiddenChest (RGSS1-3) Engine
The engine that kyonides has been developing as a replacement executable for RPGMaker line is capable of resizing the gaming window. However, that is not enough for those using the default scripts from RPGMaker XP or VX. For that, DerVVulfman posted Graphic Resize your Maps (XP/VX versions). His post contains two small scripts that alter the default code used by VX and XP, updating their viewports and character map-scroll limits based on whatever game resolution is enacted. The scripts do not affect the battlesystem design, but DerVVuflman explained the code itself is simple to study and implement for battle.

If one traveled the world, they would encounter many cultures, each withtheir own practices and religions. And with that, the nomadic people that have been added to the Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V now has a religious leader of their own. Clad in robes and head coverings in slate, a mullah now appears. His vestments trimmed in gold, he is very Sheik.

Well, that's it for this week.

Announcements and Updates
After weeks of work, DerVVulfman finished what may be the first phae of his RPGMaker Webs Archiving Endeavor. This week, he finished downloading all the threads containing text and links to the completed games in the board. And with that being the last board he had to scour, he finished the first phase while posting links to the topics within our forum.

Occasions
Just a few days ago, the 2026 Game Jam began, and MetalRenard wanted to come in to signal its start. He also wanted to remind everyone that the forum also has a discord channel. Do remember, the Game Jam is on the honor mode in that you are only to spend four days on your entry, and the Game Jam ends Sunday, August 9th.

General Chat
The shock at seeing movies long lines at movie theaters was on the mind of Ace_V, especially when he and his father were stuck having to purchase tickets for "The Odyssey" days in advance. He's never seen it this bad, let alone any long lines since the Star Wars prequels were released.

Development Discussion
If you thought about asking anyone What's Up, Remi-chan decided to take a look at RPG Paper Maker, and surprised herself at its capabilities as a competitor to the RPGMaker line. A small test project allowed her to import her own 2D classic sprite graphics within a pseudo-3D world and allowed her to rotate the camera as she desired. Meanwhile, she fell in love with the recent spritework from her character artist while still waiting for her portrait artist to return.

Complete Projects
As massive as the forum may be, DerVVulfman began working on downloading all of the COMPLETED GAMES FROM RM WEBS and finished by the very end of the week. Not only did it have completed projects, but a board for those games that went commercial.

Code Support
Rose Guardian ran into a severe problem with her current game trying to setup a transformation skill with Visustella plugins and it giving her an error. She not only posted the code of her character transformation code and a shot of the error she's receiving, but she also uploaded a demo from her project for anyone to examine for hopeful insight.

Tutorials
When the week began, DerVVulfman continued his task to archive the RM WEBS TUTORIALS and finished uploading the webpages in zip files within a couple of days.

RPGMaker XP (RGSS) Engine
For anyone who wants near unlimited space to create their worlds but are upset at the limitations defined in the RPGMaker XP editor itself, DerVVulfman has a solution. With his Map Resizer script, a game developer is able to redefine the size of a map without the use of the map properties window, and exceed the 500x500 tile dimensions. Originally, it came with a simple destructive feature, taking a map and replacing it with one barren but set to the desired size. He returned with an update that is able to save the original contents in the newly reformed map. His script is functional for RPGMaker VX and VXAce as well

RPGMaker VX/VXAce (RGSS2/3) Engines

He returned with an update that is able to save the original contents in the newly reformed map. His script also works with RPGMaker XP, which he stated was his initial project.

"Dag nabbit! Somethin's gottin into my eyes!" No matter what you think, even caravaners in the desert have to watch out for sand getting everywhere, and the wise woman sprite that recently appeared within the Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V knows it. Though appearing last week, Ace_V decided to return and give her some protective eyewear for when she is out checking the surrounding dunes.

A figure sure of himself, practicing his balance at nighl within woods illuminated under the moonlight. A smile on his face with a ball of hurt in his hand, he is a simian hero who believes more in family than fame. The latest creation added to the museum's art gallery for Remi-chan's Neato Arty thingie is the Master of Kaleidoscopic Keys. And one may wonder if he bestowes kaleidoscopes to those by smacking them upside the head with that massive spiked weapon he brandishes. Another humanoid that took less than seven hours for Remi-Chan, the speed-draw that accompanies lasts but ten minutes.

Literature
Past the carved marble lions and Ionic pillars, one can see the grand Greco-Roman stonework and Mannerist archways of the forum Library. Within the hallowed halls with beautiful dark walnut panels and tiles of subdued green and amber glass, the halls for Remi-chan's Writing Snippets was gifted a new chapter. One may wonder if her inspiration hailed from the 16th century Chinese literature as the Hero of Teratown is a simian hero with a weapons-in-hand. But for Valin, such titles have no worth and the value in those he cared for meant more to him than any riches the he could inherit from a relationship-based whim.

Well, that's it for this week.

Some thoughts towards the End User Licenses of certain game engines was On the mind of DerVVulfman, updating the threads to the games for all he could find. Meanwhile, Remi-chan is having issues with RPGMaker VX no longer working on her PC once more, and switching over to SteamOS and abandoning Windows, the constant message asking her to upgrade to Windows 11 having been a nagging problem. DerVVulfan noted that the Windws 11 upgrade notice stopped showing in the US, and should have stopped showing everywhere else this past April.

Development Discussion
This week, the idea of a new RPGMaker XP editor is What's up with fellow RMers Son_Rukiri. His edition supports Ruby 4.0, an updated tilemap with infinite layer capabilities, and even a tile erasal tool. He admits the system is not near ready, but has tested gameplay. And screenshots include the Scripts Databse that can have sections collapsed and expanded like spoilers. And though she's been taking a break with some Palworld, Remi-Chan announced some breakthroughts with her game, the handling of a game freezing bug that is a systemic problem with RPGMaker MV and MZ, the updating of NWJS libraries which removed annoying delays in some dialogue scenes, and issues with Game Over scenes. Meanwhile, Xiie (or Save-Point's Rune) has bestowed the Unholy Butcher for Remi to use, and Remi-chan's character portrait has her bamboozled for another month.

Since receiving the character spritework for Xeltara, a harpy-like villainess, Remi-chan couldn't resis venturing into the Maps and screenshots thread to show her off in four separate scenes. A darkly lit cavern, the tops of mountain vistas, and even aboard what may be a space vessel of some sort, her wings reach out to soar for her talon-torn victims.

Complete Projects
Fan art keeps appearing for Rave Heart+ as BerryB sets his sight on more and more for Starmage. She received one of Chad wielding his massive broadsword with shimmering hues of amethyst glinting off the blade. But Applemango_OC set Chad back in his place with chibi paintworks of her own.

It has been five years since people were treated to a small developing world in 41st Century. But now, Rose Guardian returns to that world with a whole new gaming engine to release Star Knight Remake. Sporting music by MoonWind and Wingless Seraph, journey with a new cast of characters as the college aged heroes try to stop the invasion of their home world.

Tutorials
This week, DerVVulfman continued working on acquiring the TUTORIALS OF RPGMaker WEBS, beginning this week with the upload of all those within the RPGMaker VXAce subforum. Ater that, he returned two more times working upon the upload of those tutorials for RPGMaker MV. Though he is only halfway done with the tutorials for RPGMaker MV, he is nearing the end of the whole Tutorial board.

RPGMaker XP (RGSS) Engine
It wasn't that long ago that KBuild XP hit the library, a script by kyonides that allows a game developer copy sections of a map and paste those tiles elsewhere with precision. However, the latest upgrade now allows one to copy and paste sections by their layer, be it the ground, lower or upper tile layers.

Though initially inspired to look back at his work from a false bug report, kyonides discovered issues with KBribe XP that incorrectly handled enemies being targeted. And following that, he also found that there was an issue with the bribery payment system. Fortunately, he performed a maintenance update to fix both issues.

RPGMaker VX/VXAce (RGSS2/3) Engines
For those game developers that worry that their epic battles may be too hard for the player, assistance has come their way with the Battle Swap & Last Resort by Ebanyle. Her script, designed for RPGMaker VXAce, grands the player the ability to change the makeup of the party whilst in battle. Though it may have compatability issues with scripts that may alter the battle system, it seems to work fine with the Theolized Sideview Battlescript and the YEA Battle Engine.

Despite how one lost within the sands of a desert would think they were in naught but a featureless realm bereft of water. However, the Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V would prove one wrong. For the silvery blue-haired elder among the desert nomades is she who knows the way. The elder woman that he created for the sand dweller tribes, garbed in protective desert fashion was envisioned as a cartographer, one who knows where every oasis, where every stony outcropping and cave, and where every village lie within tens of miles.

The halls of the forum's museum stayed open once more as the wing dedicated to paintings and murals is a buzz with activity. For yet another piece has been put on display within the gallery for Remi-chan's Neato Arty thread thing! With shaggy cut bob of crimson hair, and eyes a glow in amaranth, she stands before. Clad in garments of charcoal best said to be a promise of rapture. But with leathen wings outstretched and the bones of the hapless at her feet, a warning and threat of impending doom. It has been five years since Remi-chan last put Azaroth to virtual canvas. And fittingly enough, this twelve-hour work was recorded and can have its composition played back with the two-hundredth speed draw.

Literature
Deceit, damnation and duplicity, these are thre words that can be used to describe the latest subject within tha pages of Remi-chan's Writing Snippets~. The so-named Tyrant of Babylon uses means malevolent to alter all of humanity so it can succumb to evil and become her feed. But what was she before this spiral into carnage, depravity and loathing?

Well, that's it for this week.

Announcements and Updates
This week, DerVVulfman reported that RMRK is closing. Indeed, they too will be ending their service by the end of the year. He did relay tht he had already begun work on archiving the site as he is with RPGMaker Webs. This news was pretty much a surprise, to members like KDC, Ace_V and Remi-chan.

Another week has passed, and DerVVulfman announced that his RPGMaker Webs Archiving Endeavor is now venturing into the Tutorials forum. In fact, he not only finished grabbing all the resource threads, but had already grabbed all the XP, VX and MZ tutorials.

Occasions
MetalRenard wished to give a friendly reminder that the 2026 Game Jam begins the end of this month. A game jam based on Fae and/or Nature, it should be fun for all.

This week, Ebanyle came by after learning that RPGMaker Webs was closing down. She hadn't logged into Webs or the community at large in few years, but wanted to let everyone know she's still around.

Though having retired from the Game Making scene for a while, Ashborn had an itch and felt like getting back into development, though surprised that RPGMaker Webs was now closing. Ashborn has been in the community for over a decade.

General Chat
Last week, the realization that Microsoft repaired updates which would make life easier was What's on the mind of KDC. Indeed, this week he left Linux and installed Windows 10 which is more compatible with his setup. kyonides was worried it would be a problem for KDC, reminding him of Steam's discontinuance of Windows 10 support, but KDC replied it was related to older 32-bit Windows builds. Meanwhile, DerVVulfman relayed that Komodo Palace still sells non-Steam editions, though he also suggests catching them on sale.

Already released in time for the Beach Pride RPG Maker Jam is Her Heart, Anew 2, a game designed by Starmage and JoTerra854. A prequel over two-hundred years before the events of "Her Heart, Anew", you now see the World of Yven mere decades into the age of Arcane Renaissance, and embark upon an adventure as an elven crusader tasked to rescue a missing lord. A tale of self discovery awaits.

Tutorials
This past week, DerVVulfman began working on acquiring all of the TUTORIALS from RM WEBS, and made significant progress. He is only downloading the first page of each thread within, unless the thread called for multiple pages. However, he had archived all the tutorials within the board's RPGMaker XP, VX and RPGMaker MV subforums.

Material Development

Major advancements were made to the HiddenChest RGSS Player Executable, with kyondes adding pre-defined default settings if neither the INI fie nor input directory exists. He also added new test conditions so the executable knows whether it has suddenly lost focus as if the player decided to open a new application such as notepad, an instance that would normally leave the game paused. But on top of that, he added new toggle options to the audio module itself, options that could easily work with the new lost focus system to pause audio playback when inactive. There was an incident that required the removal of the first release with these new features, but its was followed by an upgrade edition that added new options to set start and end loop points with OggVorbis tracks for those that want music to begin with an opening flourish and execute a continuous loop without a return to the audio's opening. Do note that RPGMaker XP users have a differently constructed audio module, it being in the main RPG module itself, so some statements are slightly different between the two.

Resources Database
It took some time, but DerVVulfman finished scouring through the RESOURCES OF RM WEBS RESOURCES. After finishing his work on downloading pages from the Engine Specific resources, he turned his gaze to those resources that were meant to be general in design. However, he noted that many were still designed for one maker or another. And towards the end of his archiving, he found more and moer dead links until the last push forward, he found many threads with no salvagable content at all.

2D Resources
The desert is a harsh mistress, for those that come across her must be prepared. And prepared is a soldier that has been added to the Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V. Clad in khakis d wearing vest armor in camo, a new figure has appeared. With brown crewcut hair, this is a new military figure ready to set himself out among the dunes.

The gallery within the forum's museum might think there was a bit of monkey business going on when she came by with the next piece for display. But there are those that are going ape with the new portrait within Remi-chan's Neato Arty thread thing! With wavy locks of marigold, Trixie lives up to her name as someone that is completely unpredictable. And woe for anyone who thinks that marriage settled her down, this simian socializer is a real party animal. But the saying in vino veritas sadly describes her well, for in alcohol her anger is released. To Remi-chan's surprise, this was a work that took less than six hours to create, even with a full body portrai with a normal humanist anatomy. Perhaps it was that this is one of the few works where the subject actually dons footwear. Be that as it may, the Misfortune of Black Friday has a speed draw for any who wishes to see her creation.

Well, that's it for this week.

  RMRK is closing

Dear friends,

Another website has joined RPGMakerWebs with closure, and that site is:

They are paid up until the end of the year. However, after that, they will be gone.

Make no mistake, archiving has already begun. And surprisingly it hasn't near as many script or plugin resources as RPGMaker Webs or others.   In fact, I can safely state that I have already downloaded viable threads for RPGMaker XP, VXAce and RPGMaker MV scripts.

... Why oh why is there more RPGMaker VX scripts?   Well... that's next after my venture into more WEBS archiving.  And that followed by its resources and (expectingly) Completed Projects forums.
