Education is great. When going to college, make sure you're going for something that people are actually hiring for. Also, you might want to avoid big for-profit universities and opt for a community college instead, it's much more affordable. Take your high school years seriously, if you do really good you'll qualify for grants and won't be spending as much out-of-pocket cash as you would otherwise.
I'm kind of biased towards college though, to be quite frank. I think it's excellent to learn something useful, especially through a structured education, but I think the "jobs" aspect is a big smoke and mirrors game. Take nursing for instance; my sister-in-law graduated as an RN (registered nurse), but she has hardly worked in nursing since she graduated three years ago. No, she does look for jobs, but she's been bouncing between Taco Bell, Carls Jr, caretaker, Arby's, Lowes, caretaker (again), Taco Bell (again), etc and it's fucking heart breaking to watch. She's worked for two hospitals as a temp, but it's always winds up being 3 months and back to unemployment because they don't have any permanent positions to fill. Everybody and their sister is a nurse in this town according to the job applications I get from people on a daily basis. Matter of fact, my employee roster consists of 3 graduated nurses, a nursing student, 2 beauty school graduates, a teacher's aide... it makes my stomach upset thinking about it, the fact that they're not doing what they paid good money to learn to do. Also, be wary of any political groups you become affiliated with in college, especially ones who are into education reform. Reform sounds like a great word, doesn't it? The more and more I look into it, I realize it's actually a "buzz word" for bad policies, especially when said reform leads to budget cuts to college education. College is expensive for two reasons. The first reason is because you're learning new technology (at least I hope you would be), and that technology costs big money to bring to campus. The second reason is because Republican'ts seem to get a raging hard on for horrible policies and screwing over the people they're supposed to be representing, such as tricking students into de-funding the very college they're enrolled in. ...I'm sorry, I did a complete 180 in what I was saying. I'm glad I'm doing fine, the uneducated fool that I am, but I hate to see people who completed their education getting screwed by the system that is supposed to build them up so they can have a better life. I know way too many people who should be doing better than me, but they have no car, no house, taking public transportation and living in ghetto apartments. That is not how the world was meant to work, we need to fix our country.

I prefer not to get indoctrinated by liberal professors, so I might actually pass on College. I wouldn't be able to afford College anyway, I'd be paying it off for years and years with no guaranteed job, and I can barely even make it by every month anyway
So what's on my mind this time, I wonder? SLEEP! Yes, I have a bedtime routine, but lately, I've been so busy that my "Bedtime" ends up being 5-6am, sometimes later! I get awoken around noontime, then I go through my morning routines. I get busy doing tons of schoolwork, then the day's redundancy kicks in. I can't wait for the next school break so I can finally get things done

that reminds me of a certain ex who despite having a master's degree in forensic anthropology, was basically an adult-child.
college can fill you with all kinds of knowledge, but nothing comes close to hard won life experience. living at school does nothing to prepare you for actual life, it's like preschool for adulthood. you think you're the shit because you're 18 and out of your parent's house, but that means exactly squat for your ability to be a functioning member of society because half the students don't know when it's snack time OR nap time. i know apprenticeships are for mexicans or whatever, but us white folk should really take a second look at them before automatically assuming a piece of paper that says you conform to a system enough to qualify to have your name written in some esoteric font on it by a total stranger means you should be allowed with the rest of us in general population. as for "liberal" indoctrination, it's 100% the students who indoctrinate each other through peer pressure. everyone's in some kind of pissing match with one another over who's the most progressive person or whatever, because suddenly they're trying to have sex with as many different people as possible, so they broaden their self perceived appeal so much that they become meaningless charicatures. they try their hardest to be the biggest phonies, in order to create a persona that helps them move past their former highschool selves. suddenly 8 out of 6 people you meet will be bisexual, EVERYONE has tattoos, since there are like, three places RIGHT near campus (WOO INDIVIDUALITY!) Unless you're able to isolate yourself, and work on you, you're going to be stamped into the same stupid little mold as everyone else. tl;dr: college is preschool, you drink juice, take naps, and draw on yourself.

As a longtime fan of the Spoony One, I am aware of Highlander II.
And the ones after that. - They should have stuck to the motto of the Original.

For the time you're laughing, there's nothing wrong in the world. (Colin Mochrie) If it's funny, make sure people laugh. If it's not funny, make it funny (unless it's actually really serious). (silvercheers) Please don't spell my name "Yamina-chan". It's all small. Thank you =D
