My favorite kind of scene is when somebody whom is perceived one way ends up personified in a totally different light. Y'know, the genocidal bad guy who absolutely loves Disney cartoons and fuzzy slippers, or the brilliant tech guy who once almost killed himself trying to operate a toaster oven, the high school chemistry teacher whom is also cooks meth with one of his former students. THOSE kinds of scenes and details that leave a person saying to themselves "Wait, what?! Oh..."

With that said, I've been scenario writing; creating 'extra' scenes for some of the less "popular" characters in the story, the ones who don't get a whole ton of spot light shined on 'em. They're not extras and dummies, they've got a personality and dialog of their own, but not everybody has their own "scene" yet. They don't have to be big, elaborate, drawn out scenes, just something revealing another minor details giving a character a little extra depth.

Anyways, here are a couple minor scenario pitches...

Leon VS Nathan - The Death of His Fiance

A boss fight between two rivals.

Leon (player's character), portrayed throughout the story as a highly religious and ethical man, was once caught sneaking around with the fiance of Nathanial, somebody he used to know through his youth group. After they get caught, Nathanial breaks up with her, so she stays with Leon. One day, tragedy strikes as the woman dies during one of her dates with Leon.

Years later, Leon and Nathanial run into each other in an old neighborhood. Nathanial, a religious man turned psycho-depressed druggie, challenges Leon to a fight. While stating that he cannot fight an unarmed civilian, Nate interrupts Leon's speech with a sucker punch to the face.

"Very well then", replies Leon. "If this fight is to be fair, I suggest you be armed to the teeth and ready to kill me. I do have the advantage of military training, y'know?"

The player actually gets to equip Nathanial as if he was a party member, selecting the gear he will be fighting you with. Leon's equipment is completely removed and, although he is still present in the menu, he cannot be re-equipped by the player. Nathanial, at the very least, must be equipped with a weapon, which will influence his stats in battle.

"Very well then. Manage to kill me and you can keep that gear, and I shall repent for my sins in hell."

If the player wins (most likely), Leon will get his gear back and apologize to Nathan, stating something along the lines of "I am sorry it had to be this way. While you're off to a better place, I suppose I need to just accept my fate to an eternal damnation."

The "Gritty Super Hero Reboot" concept

Early on, it is established through movie posters and NPC dialog that this world has its own fictional super heroes whom everybody loves. Eventually, as your team (accidentally) gains more fame and notoriety, books and films start coming out about the "Epic Take Down of Chavo Gwar" and people start learning of the secret military team behind it. Suddenly the world's super hero posters start getting replaced with more gritty, military-style reboot versions.

(An example would be, like, Batman smoking a cigarette and sporting a ridiculously large sniper rifle and a wallet chain.)

Then some NPC dialog would be like "OMG the new [superhero] is bad ass!" while others would be like "Did you see the new [superhero] movie? It totally blows! They ruined my childhood!"

The Crystal Ship

The colonel has been inflicted with a rare disease which is slowly turning him to stone. There only cure is a crystal which is unavailable in this part of the world. One which would essentially "absorb" the ailment (and later be able to weaponize it as a Spirit Gem.)

Fortunately, the team alchemist knows how to synthesize this crystal. So he proceeds to do that. He proceeds to borrow the team's vehicle, the "Caravan", and convert it into a portable lab which he dubs "The Crystal Ship". While Echo crystals are usually a clear white, the party comments that his turned out to be slightly blue in tint.

"I had to use some different materials," he replies while standing outside the military caravan in his underwear, "but it has a higher purity."

Would You Be My Guinea Pig?

There is one member of the player's team whom (at first) absolutely SUCKS at fighting. Let's face it, he's a chicken shit. To get out of combat duty, he signs up to test out "clinical trials". Hey, at least he doesn't have to be shot at. (Spoilers: WRONG.)

Enter stage left: the crazy ass DARPA science chief whom has absolute disregard for the lives of his test subjects. They did sign a non-liability waiver after all, am I right?

He proceeds to put this guy through a (scripted) battle designed to purposely kick all kinds of ass. He uses this fight to demonstrate the potency of the newest, most top secret healing goods created by his department.

"Hold still so I can kill you," he taunts before he blows the guy to hell with a launched rocket from a dues ex machina. "If this stuff is worth its salt, I should be able to bring your sorry ass back to the land of the living."

Reward for going through with this comical murder and revival festival is some healing items, power up items and abilities which help this hero to suck a lot less.

I've got quite a bit more, but these are the ones I like the most. Please feel free to give me some input.
