It's not about making it clear that you just put them together on a single file, it's about not saying something is yours when you know it's not the case. Since this file obviously includes sprites made by other people, just copy and paste them on a new image file isn't worth mentioning. It's more like a minor edit that an original piece of art. You only expect your nickname to be included in any project credits if you provided something really original or original enough to claim it as your own.

On the other hand I don't know if the crowd as it looks right now is a good idea, for example one may need more or less people showing up on the map but this image isn't good enough because you can see there are parts of the sprites being cut off, invisible and that might make it look odd. Perhaps it would be better to erase some of the sprites at the borders too make it look cleaner and easy to implement on any map. I know, it's just my opinion but I really think it could benefit from my idea.
