Hey, have you considered it could be something in your OS's file structure? You could run CHKDSK which checks to find bad sectors and doublechecks your file system. Had to do that on a work computer last week... exact same symptoms you're describing. A file lost its index and CHKDSK discovered and fixed it. It's running smooth now.
You right-click properties on your C: drive in your computer to get to the TOOLS tab. Schedule an Error Checking routine for your next reboot (though it may take a while).
