Should we edit Wikipedia and other websites?

I would be hesitant. To be honest, one must question sources rigorously (I hate this library's keyboard). According to many reports, false and misleading information about Covid has been reported more than legitimate and factual content. According to Newsguard, false and misleading reports have been made over 140 times that of correct information.

Look at the news for Africa for example. Africans are more resistant? False - Garlic or Pepper Sup cures Covid? False - Nigerian Evangelist Preacher goes to China to eradicate Covid and dies? False

A lot of misleading information circulates, even by sources people may trust. However, the interet is replete with people wishing to share unaware if it is fact or fiction.

Of course, another issue would be that the Wikipedia is wholly editable by everyone. If you wish to promote one story, and someone else thinks it is wrong because they read something to the contrary, your content may be erased. Viewpoints, opinions, facts, bios... it is fully editable and susceptible to abuse.
