Biden administration singles out China
as 'biggest geopolitical test' for U.S.

President Joe Biden singled out a "growing rivalry with China" as a key challenge facing the United States, with his top diplomat describing the Asian country as "the biggest geopolitical test" of this century.

It's about time.  And this from the guy who said just last year "China is not our problem." Took him damn long enough.

Blinken has said he agrees with his predecessor Mike Pompeo's determination that genocide against Muslims is underway in Xinjiang, but did not use the term in his speech.

How long will this last...?

China tells Biden
to reverse 'dangerous practice' on Taiwan

China’s foreign minister warned the Biden administration on Sunday to roll back former President Donald Trump’s “dangerous practice” of showing support for Taiwan, the island democracy claimed by Beijing as its own territory.

This coming from a nation building 'islands' in the middle of international waters in an attempt to take the whole South China Sea?

The claim to Taiwan, which split with the mainland in 1949, is an “insurmountable red line,” Wang Yi said at a news conference during the annual meeting of China’s ceremonial legislature.

Though THAT was part of a Civil War and mainland China's government was not the original government. Taiwan's (ROC established in 1912) is what remains of the original.

“No one cares more about the development of democracy in Hong Kong than the central government,” Wang said. He said the changes will protect the “rights of Hong Kong residents and the legitimate interests of foreign investors.”

*COUGH!* Who just arrested lawyers and activists of Hong Kong independence and broke the 1997 deal?

“The so-called existence of genocide in Xinjiang is absurd. It is a complete lie fabricated with ulterior motives,” Wang said. He blamed “anti-China forces” that he said want to “undermine the security and stability of Xinjiang and hinder China’s development and growth.”
