I decided against posting last week as I had been more or less unproductive on the game and I'd gotten nothing new from either of my artists so there wouldn't have been much to talk about beyond the curiosities of beta-testing. But things have changed.
Remi-Chan
The sheer amount of feedback I've gotten has been very good, I made some goofy mistakes that resulted in some wonky af controls, like forgetting to include the config.rpgsave so my QA testers were starting the game with arrow keys and mouse instead of WASD and mouse. There's a funny visual thing where the defend animation doesn't get turned off at the end of battle, ending in what my friend heddare called the cheese-noodle meta. Lots of rather entertaining things like that!
Ambient Sounds and Sacreblu events.
So Fantasia does have a fairly limited library of sounds for its ambience, and even in its sound effects its fairly restrictive, this was to avoid having an obscene library of sounds that were never used and filled the game with unnecessary bloat, a problem both Intelligence 314th Clash and Menagerie have had.
But the limited BGS or rather, the limited assortment meant some scenes had rather underwhelming sound when the scene depended quite richly on that sound. So i implemented four new background sound tracks I received courtesy of some DLC that sound very rich and will help scenes that prior were using fairly underwhelming background sound.
That moves us onto the Sacreblu events. These have always been in the game since Demo 2, HOWEVER-- they have been fairly luckluster and easy to miss, even with the optional event dossier. This is something I've decided to alter and change. Not only have I put the events in locations where you'll be unable to miss them on accident in the main story, but they have all been remastered with better writing, some VN_screens and new story hooks.
This scene goes into the Aspect of Intelligence's fear of smart people and how that wit often becomes dangerous or is dangerous from the get-go. Accompanied with some stunning VN_screens this scene builds on Sacreblu's character and somewhat informs us to her past blunders as Blu the Spellweaver.
We're going to ignore the contextless tripe which is in the thumbnail and talk about the book and tower in question. The book mentioned in this scene is the same one Svoli uses to become an Apotropaic Goddess in Disk 2, the tower-- or ruins of it, is actually the same tower that we explored in Perseverance Full Clearance that Esperia called one of her haunts. In PFC there was an entirely optional area if one went down the ladder on the ground floor they would end up in the <video thumbnail description goes here> that is talked about. This scene also helps build Tiramisa's character a little which is good because she gets very little screen-time until Disk 2 otherwise.
That said book: The Apotropaic Necronomicon-- has changed hands many times. It was initially Maphael Forzhein's, (if you know, you know) then it was stolen by Tristy, who realized it was too dangerous so she handed it over to Sacreblu, then Esperia took it for herself and decided to hide it in her tower, then Tiramisa stole it from that tower, but brought it back since she figured it was fairly safe therein. Finally it was taken by the one who actually went through with using it.
A fair bit happens in this scene, continuing the animosity Tiramisa expressed towards Esperia in the scene prior, we see Tiramisa's fangs beared both verbally and externally, as this is the first time we see her devil-gene. Her name is never mentioned, but considering Esperia shows fear in regards to her, it's shown she's a big hitter. This is also one of the first times a 'Ruler' is mentioned and their ability to diagnose is somewhat implied.
Shout out to Kate Holden, Denise Ding and Lauren Kong, the voice actors for Esperia, Tiramisa and her Devil-gene respectively.
Xiie / Rune
Xiie is in top gear, after some hectic events regarding the supercell Typhoon she has not relented in her craft. She began and finished Rykki Schrodinger to compliment Porrum.
She's almost done with the male cholepteroi (Faithful of Mahlat).

He has arrived in Manila and is presently working on getting all his things in order. Nothing to show just yet but it shouldn't be long before he can start sending files. We've not yet been able to check if his old files are okay due to financial constraints. But either way he's back in a good position to begin working.
