Not sure if it's just me, but the set variable function causes a crash?

Tried a basic variable test.

Had one NPC say:

Code:

The value of the variable is \V[00001]

Which worked well.

Made a second NPC that would alter said variable

Code:

"\c[4]I just set the variable to\c[0] four!"
Control Variables: [0001] = 4
Control Self Switch: A = on

but talking to it caused this error:
