Help with CTB by Charlie fleed

I just tried the demo for the CTB script and the battle runs fine in the demo game. I am using a couple of other scripts with my game, including one for animated intros (http://forum.chaos-project.com/index.php?topic=5854.0) and i'm planning on eventually adding another to customize menus. the issue only seems to be when i am trying to merge the scripts in my game. I have not changed anything in the scripts themselves & my game features little more set up than just a map to demo a battle, and actors that will make up a party early on.
EDIT: My advanced titles script was slightly modified to put an opening title screen, but there is no error with the startup of the game. the error occurs at the first battle/random encounter
