Hi, I'm PoryKid575! I've messed around with RPG Maker on-and-off for a few years now; but I fell off around 2022 and haven't done much with the engine since. I want to change that and finally learn scripting / improve my skills enough to make high quality games. I have both RPG Maker 2003 and XP, but I heavily prefer XP due to it not forcing ATB battles like 2003.

Hrm... ATB is the battle system with timer bars. Battlers can be Sideview or frontview.
I don't discount RPGMaker 2003 one bit. I know some games where the designer created wicked systems and features with just eventing. In fact, some things people want scripted could just be done with events.
Do you have any RM project in mind?

I have some early-stage ideas; but they're mostly gameplay-focused and not enough to base a full game or story around yet. I've been making a really basic game to refresh myself and have a completed project under my belt, and I'm thinking of using the same setting / characters I'm considering using for real games down the line, with the idea that these basic projects (both the current one and likely 1 or 2 more to get some practice with stuff like scripting) are minor adventures / incidents in the protag's childhood.
