My VERY FIRST Game With RMXP! Need Suggestions!

This is my first game with RMXP. I have not named it yet, if anyone has a good name i might use it. I think i did okay for my first game. Please feel free to criticize, complement, suggest, and question. Share what you liked, disliked, or just think needs work. It DOES have an action battle system(Mr.Mo's)! Which to me is much more fun then side-view or whatever. Press 'A' when next to an enemy to attack them, and you can hold it down. It doesn't announce when you get drops so check your inventory (escape key). If you die it still lets you attack but you don't get exp. Just go to the shop in the town south of the mountain area and buy one if you have 150g. If not restart.

-The main reason i'm posting this is for suggestions so please help with them!!!-

It's just pretty much a basic rpg game. With LOTS of quests and more soon.

THERE ARE MANY QUESTS SO TALK TO EVERYONE YOU SEE CHECK IN HOUSES TOO!! Quests bring many advantages!
The first quest in the place where you start is kind of messed up. She asks you to find an item in the mountain. There should be a chest but for some reason it's invisible, but still works.
Just press enter or space when facing this spot and go back to her.

I still haven't credited all the pieces for my game but i will soon.

I played the beginning, I'll play the rest tomorrow.

I agree that it's pretty good being your first game.
You should create a little cutscene or simply a black screen with show texts explaining who the player character is and why he is where he is. If you do not know how to do this, just tell then I will show you ;)
The mapping of the second grassland and the cave is great. I would believe that they were made by an experienced and talented mapper if you didn't tell me you are a beginner. The city-map might need some work though. The autotile that you use for road should only be used for top of castle/wall. The doors seem a bit strange and you probably know that. here is a pack with a tileset and some other doors, some of them are big (double):

The indoor maps are not very very bad, but they are too empty. you should make the wall-autotile to make them smaller and fill them up with furniture ;)

Thanks for the comment! Well the two maps you were talking about i used from another game, one of the ones i haven't credited yet, but i'm going to change them up a bit. The rest of what you said helped me and i'll fill up some rooms that are empty.

Another thing might be to make your game thread (this thread) a bit more fancy. tell a bit more about the game and provide some screenshots.

Honestly my suggestion for your first game is to not push yourself to release anything. Calm down, get used to all the functions of XP first. Create a short 'test' thing for yourself. You can always polish and build on it later if you like the idea you came up with. Test out a few scripts (or even a but of scriptING), figure out what events to in combaination. Figure out cool mechanics on paper and then try to translate them into events.

That kind of free, experimental approach will be far more valuable to you as a first game-making experience than limiting youself and trying to please a couple folk on the internet.

And that was my suggestion. My other suggestion is careful playtesting.

As far as playing goes it's generic. Not bad but not good either. But I guess that's what you were going for. The cave bridge puzzule was quite interesting but unfortunately there's some passability issues involved there that make the game unwinnable. You can't walk on the squares I circled in red.

About your chest not being visible problem, it's possible that the top of the cliff is on top of it. Try hitting the 'always on top' checkbox on the event or something.

you should also make the hero stronger or the enemies weaker. It's very hard to survive the first maps without getting knockout
