Nuuu I can't trade my pc, its all mine, my own my precious. Now I feel like Gollum. I am not using intel quick sync for any video encoding tasks. Come to think of it, not using Intel quick sync, and vce nor nvidia nvenc. I will try to do some streaming during the weekend or next Wednesday and see what happens. I can let you know before I set it up so you can tell me how much of a fail I am.

I will try to stream with the highest bitrate I can for at least 30 mins and then I'll run a timer during the encoding session. I'll do a 1080P a 720P and a 480P. I guess I can let you choose which application you want me to try for the encoding since I'm not really a fan of any of the ones I mentioned. As far as which game to stream I will probably do it with Lords of the fallen, maybe all the way up to the second warden. That should be a decent stream session.


Win 10 related: my wireless Xbox 360 remote worked right after plugin it. This is something I had to setup and even mess with when I had Win 8.1 Pro. I didn't have to tweak xlive or anything it just worked. The other feature that I really liked of the Virtual Desktops. It allows you to have certain applications on one desktop and some different applications on the other but sharing the desktop icons. Simply press Win key + Crtl + D to create one.

I'm using Windows 10 Home on my laptop but my main PC would be Pro if I updated it. Still not planning to though. You can't make me! :O

Yeah, I really see no reason to upgrade at this point in time-- in my opinion anyway. 

I took a video a few days ago because I wanted to record, without knowing of Quicksync's problem with Windows 10, and this is the result:




The lag gets pretty noticeable at many points. This game usually plays at perfect 60fps while recording, so the lag was a big surprise to me!

So I recorded a 54mins video and uploaded at 1080P. The recording process for me was seamless. I didn't experience any lags throughout the entire gameplay. At the time I don't have any decent encoders/video editors so  I tried to edited with VSCD Video Editor. I only cut it making turning it into a 25min video to later verify the quality and upload. The initial file was 3.24gbs which got trim down to 1.23gb file after encoding it and trimming. It took 19 mins the entire process. Compared to the original video the quality is a 7/10.

My other test was utilizing the recorder application (Plays tv) to upload and trim the video down to 25mins. Encoding time 0. Uploading time idk it felt like 40mins. My upload speed sucks. Quality wise, is just like the original.

Other notes: Windows Movie Maker is currently not supported in Windows 10. At least the official installer doesnt work and at the moment the microsoft website states that it doesnt work with Windows 10. Wheter if this will change or not, time will tell. I also want to add that I didnt try to extract the installer to then launch it in compatibility mode or performed any other troubleshooting on the matter. This is because I assume that is MS wants it to work with it, it should work without needing to do anything than just launching the installer.


BTW, I would appreciate if everyone that watches the video leaves me a little comment, whether if its good or bad. I know is not the best of games so just a hi or anything on regards the quality, nothing fancy.

I guess Windows 10 Home and Pro both have their own problems. 
I haven't had any problems with Movie Maker except it updating while I was saving a video 
Do you mean if someone wants to install a fresh copy of Movie Maker? Because if so, then that could be a big problem for those without the program. That makes me sad for those people. 

The quality of your video was pretty good, but I was only able to watch a minute and a half before the video started having problems. (I think it was the site's video player itself, not your recording. (In fact, I went back to test that theory a second ago, and yeah, it was the video player goofing up.))


I've been using Photoshop without a single problem for the past two days now, as well as Paint.net and OBS. After some cumulative updates, it seems Quicksync may be working better again. I'll have to test more, though, since I only tested it with ps1 games. 
Silent Hill 2, however, suffered a few fps hit after the latest update. As a ps2 game, I can see the fps and lag as it happens, and I wasn't even recording. The game is SUPPOSED to work at 56-60 without speedhacks, but now it goes 50-54 and with speedhacks, still jumps around. 

Again, more testing will be done. (And some restarts to see if that was the problem!)

Correct, fresh install of Movie Maker wont work with Windows 10. I will be experimenting with it in a few minutes to see if a fresh install is possible unpacking the installer or through any other way.

Windows 10 + Windows Movie Maker issue - fixed. Turns out that Win 10 doesnt let you install Movie Maker if there are any pending updates to be installed. First all pending updates must be installed. Then the pc must be restarted. Once youre back into window, simply run the installer and thats it. I havent try to edit any videos with it yet, but whenever I get the chance I'll add some feedback on it.

If you need a cheap video solution, you can get Vegas Home Studio for about $40-$50 (at least, I got it for £30). They tend to have sales now and then.

Sony Vegas is a very nice. I'd editor, I found a few others (free) that can serve well for someone that is starting. I won't post anything about them because I really haven't test any the right way.

Adding more to Windows 10, SEP -Symantec Endpoint Protection is horrible with it. I had a client that upgraded from Win8 to 10 and the upgrade literally killed SEP. Was able to remove it with clean wipe, but installing this guy back to proper conditions was a nightmare. I did a lot of research on it and even though Symantec claims it works with Win 10 I saw a lot of users experiencing the same and similar issues.

For anyone that has a gaming motherboard that only has a Killer NIC make sure that you download the drivers first. Windows 10 will not install the drivers during the upgrade/fresh install process leaving you without internet connection. While latest Killer NIC drivers support and work fine with Windows 10 they arent included during the deployment . . .yet. I also found that for some MSI motherboards Windows 10 doesnt load some of the system controllers. I recommend keeping the drivers handy in case that the installation misses something.
