There's a lot of black in that youtube video. It might just be youtube quality but it's difficult to desinguish the (dark) character from the (dark) road. He looks like a disembodied floating head.

That's just a minor complaint, though. And again, it may just be youtube being itself.

Those movie posters strike me as a missed opportunity to have some fun. Unless they're going to play a plot role why not replace them in the tileset with shrunk-down versions of the title screens of your favourite RMXP/VX games? It seems like it'd be a cute little easter egg.
