Well, if Moghunter used inheritance when making his original XP menus, his scripts would have been 50% shorter and more compatible with nearly anything else.
Nonsensical stuff? Toy problems? Perhaps that would be dependent upon the professor. When I was dealing with code, it was more towards dealing with customer databases, point of sales and salaries. Still, I expect Java to be more audio-visual, so gaming would be a logical direction.
