Who ever told you there wasn't a sixth bullet as well? 
Replacing Boost::Filesystem with a custom
Ruby solution in my HiddenChest project, but it seems it needs more 
tweaking than I first thought. 
The reason? That's an easy one, it's supposed to make it a lot easier than ever before to cross compile it on Linux to make it run on Windows pretty much natively.
It sounds great, in theory at least.
