Wow, I have a lot of work to do.

Oof.... Hey, everyone.

I went HARD on going through the Tutorials board with well over 100 viable lessons with working links, graphics and/or demos.  There sadly were a couple dozen tutorials that did not survive the years. And comically, about one-third of the posts within the RPG Maker Center's tutorial section were actually support queries and not tutorials at all. However, almost all of the tutorials have been archived!

Almost...  There is only one thread in the tutorials board that remains.  And it is a monster.

A thread with over twenty individual lessons on ruby scripting, each lesson expected to contain a dozen nested spoilers and numerous graphic resources each.  And the last thread I tackled from the producer of this tutorial took me three hours to sort through and archive.

Um, I'm done for tonight.  ^_^

That second to last comment makes me think it has something to do with a penguin of sorts, but I could be wrong here, guys. Happy with a sweat You see, it could be a very old post instead. Confused

@Remi I often go into chat, just cause I don’t post there doesn’t mean I am unaware of what’s going on.

I know the great wolfman has been grabbing resources for us as I tried to get into the sub forums and topics whilst we were active to help grabbing stuff. Time wise the forum itself was unstable for years.

I am quite disappointed in the level of sarcasm in your post remi considering how many a time I was your advocate

Huzzah!  Oh, and Hi.

At long last, the work to salvage RPG Maker Central's Tutorials forum has now been completed. And it certainly wasn't easy. Some of the posters linked their threads to 'off-site' boards that no longer exist. And those were among the worst to process, both for the annoyance that they did so to promote another site instead and the aggravation to seek out the lost content elsewhere... or else-WHEN as it were.

After such a labour, you would think the task to archive RPG Maker Central was complete.  But no.  There is one board of sufficient content left to archive lest their threads vanish from history.

Geez, I can get long winded...  Joe Cool

The one forum within RPG Maker Central that remains is the Completed Projects board.  These are works that members of the community had created with the intent of distributing, whether by mere Mediafire links or Itch.Io sites.  It would be a shame to let their labours fade away.

Unless something untold appears, this would be the last forum within RPG Maker Central.  General Discussions and the like are too voluminous to process. And upcoming or WIP projects will not be archived as they would be seen as abandoned.  If a member did wish to return to work upon their project, our native Upcoming Project's board should itself be sufficient.

But having worked today upon the one final tutorial that spanned 24 off-site articles that each is arguably larger than any post made by Kyonides within the News-of-the-World Topic...  from 13:30 GMT  to 23 GMT...

Ooof....  Mad Scientist   That's it for today!  I'll see about it tomorrow.

Don't take it personally, how am I to know you're around if you don't make it obvious? :P

I just figured you'd more or less left RMC and the rpgmaker community in a big way- which to be fair, is probably the sanest thing one could do given the state of affairs it's in.

But I am already in the pit, you understand?

Nah don't worry this ain't at all your fault this time. Not naming names though i don't think the fella is even on here- and even if he was his devotion to helping out the community is admirable-- just holy crap there's a LOT of things and poor VVulfie is getting tired!

This is the most heinous thing you have ever said to me.

Although not inaccurate.

Sorry that I'm better at doing your unpaid job as a member than you are with all the administrative tools at your disposal, I guess??

But yes, accurate! Also don't let my sour-sounding and very tactless banter make you think I'm not over the moon to see you whenever you pop your lil' rabbit head in to a place. You may have banned me three times (I'm counting the ban from RPG RPG Revolution as well, hah! I bet most people don't remember that one!) but being banned is hardly a special or crazy thing for me, so I don't take offense to it anymore.

You've been with the community since I entered it, and stayed true to the path of like... not being a big overblown shithead about it??

Which might sound weird but you have no idea how rare it is for people to stick around and not become some massive douchebag, or are shown to have been one all along.

Man I am BAD at telling people I think they are cool! I'll just say you are cool and leave it at that instead of making another big rabbithole (geddit?) out of nothing!?

Even the word 'sarcasm' wouldn't do. I had to find a more descriptive and entertaining word like vituperation to play with for someone like you.

Real!
Speaks she who post 1000 word essays by way of multiple, consecutive posts. Tongue sticking out

I stated that I would work upon the Completed Games board from the RPG Maker Central forum, and today I began the feat. Yes, there were a number of games that were lost, but much more that were saved, salvaged or rediscovered.

Working backwards as I do, I tackled the eldest posted or eldest updated game topics first. And of the batch that I worked upon today, I was able to archive twenty surviving games out of thirty.

Of the games lost, a number used dl.Dropbox which has now vanished. Some others vanished with the creator's own website. And a couple were deleted by intent.

However, the games that have been archived and/or saved from vanishing are interesting, diverse and at times quite wacky.  A few of the games are actively available on Steam, one that even received a review over the creator's series as a whole. One game earned enough fan recognition that there are... actually dance videos based on it? * That is not a joke. *  And then there are fan games such as one for Shin Megami Tensei and one that... was a literal hodge-podge between Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, Hercules and Xena, Dracula and the Evil Dead.

Imagination indeed flourished, and I am roughly one-third through the completed games content of RPG Maker Central.

If there's any chance of finding anything further back under RPGMakerVXAce.com, I have no idea.  Laughing + Tongue sticking out

Meanwhile, I am glad to say that fewer than a dozen of our forum's native scripts need to be separated between their engine types, those that are RPGMaker XP and others.
