(March 10 to March 16, 2025)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
General Chat
There is plenty of material online to watch, so if you are interested in reaction content, you find that asking AVGB-KDGaming What are YouTubing?, that she found a doctor watching a British Reality show within a hospital. Meanwhile, Remi-chan reminisced about an animated adaptation of a webcomic that involved prohibition liquor-running cats with tommyguns. But revealed that an animated mini-epsisode for the series was also available for viewing.

Donald Trump hit the News of the World as ICE arrests and deportations of Tren De Aragua and like hardened criminals skyrocket, a later report showing the Biden Administration actively lied about their past arrests. And the US had launched major strikes against the Houthis, both refusing to stop until the Houthis disarm and as a strong message to Iran who is joining Russia and China in nuclear talks. Of China, their steel economy began to slip due to its housing crisis, but is caught on video using plenty of steel to make landing barge troop transports for a possible Taiwan invasion. Insofar as the Ukraine/Russia war, Russia made claim it had retaken Sudzha and Ukraine flatly denied reports that thousands of their troops were surrounded. The Greenland election sending a message that its land is not for sale, a French lawmaker demanding the return of the Statue of Liberty, US Democrats divided after the government funding bill passed, another lawsuit over spilt hot coffee after 30 years, the Macedonian Nightclub fire, and more hit this week's news.

Tech Talk
The News of the Cyber World at the end of the week was certainly SpaceX's rescue of the 9 month stranded astronauts. But with kudos for SpaceX, Musk had issues with a massive cyberattack against Twitter/X, the scope suggesting either a large entity or country involved. And lastly, the US's Social Security Administration is upgrading its bulky systems with AI using the new Hearing Recording and Transcriptions (HeaRT) system. The Chinese Billionaire Hobo and British Columbian Premier's threat to Canada's Tesla market also hit this week's news.

Games Development
Development Discussion
Game development is always What's up our RMers as DerVVulfman is continuing his spriting endeavors on ladies' bras, while AVGB-KBGaming wants to expand his knowledge on various RPG engines while working on a character survival game with some TES-like backstory. However, Remi-chan feels she is going through another case of burn-out, and warned AVGB-KBGaming how she strugged with one of the game engines just mentioned.

Complete Projects
Starmage has remasteed Elf's Dairy, her game from 2018, changing battle mechanics where some characters now have more attack skills that have a 100% chance of success, changes to the Area-Of-Effect system, and added some Ale in time for Saint Patrick's Day. But like her other works, she has been replacing her AI generated art with her own work.

Starmage appeared within both her Astral Awakening and Once Upon the Woods contest games, replacing all the cover art generated by Leonardo A.I. with her own. But with Once Upon the Woods, game graphics have also been updated.

Material Development
Tools
There are now new input options added to the HiddenChest RGSS Player Executable. This week, kyonides added Input.double_trigger? and Input.trigger_old options. However, he states that there are still issues with Input.repeat?

Scripts Database
RPGMaker XP (RGSS) Engine
A feature that had been added in various systems before and was made a standard feature within later engines, DerVVulfman added Simple Dashing to the RPGMaker XP engine. The code, he states, is basically simple code based upon that from RPGMaker VXAce's. And it merely performs speed increases and not character graphic changes. But he does have features where the dash effect can be disabled.

RPGMaker VX/VXAce (RGSS2/3) Engines
Have you thought it would be entertaining to change the way the damage formulas worked? With Ekuipment's Skill Damage ACE by kyonides, you can. It allows you to alter the item or skill damage formulas through the equipment's notebox. It was within a day that kyonides updated the script to allow stat and specific percentages to also be invoked.

Returning to his Character's Dash Animation for RPGMaker VXAce, kyonides added a minor rework of the character draw method as part of a minor feature request. But it wasn't enough as there were a couple of minor bugs he had to eliminate.

Resources Database
2D Resources
Newspapers still exist, and are among the Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V. This week, Ace_V sprited a street urchin whom can earn money as a paperboy. And for those who have need, there are a pair of newspaper icons if you have need for tabloid papers in your game.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
The high-energy electric pop of the 80s has been revived by the Original Music and Sound FX of Eric Matyas. His latest composition entitled "Arcade Space Quest" is a quick paced and filled replete with polysynth blasts and new age sweeps.

Art and Design
If you need an old wood texture, the Massive Library of Free Images that Eric Matyas has beein compiling now has two more. One of his newer textures is a rough dark brown color, the second grayed and aged.

A new face has appeared within Remi-chan's Neato Arty thread thing! Clad in a dark Yukata robe accented with sunflower and like bright flowers, a lady similar in design as Remi's Immoral Architect, but with deep crimson eyes. The background given by the artist is that she is indeed from the same realm as the characters dubbed 'The Twins', and gifted us with a companion speed draw.

Well, that's it for this week.
