Are we talking 8-bit? cause I love 8-bit.
Or maybe you're not talking about video game music at all, when I don't know what you're talking about.

I was referring to early synthesizers in music. This does apply to some early game music as well, though: Myst, for instance, had a score done entirely on one Emu keyboard.

Hey, Python Blue. I am not one to knock early game music. Sure, some little tunes stay with you like Super Mario Bros. But some games had a composer go to TOWN on the sucker. Limited as the system was, check out the NES OST for Batman. The game was actually good too.

I personally like chiptunes, but I can kinda see why the hatred. A lot of people associate retro stuff with pretentious hipsters, and nobody likes hipsters. XD
Also I have some friends that are very touchy about the term "8-bit" because it's so casually thrown around these days as a substitute for "digital".

i stopped doing open mics with this one guy because he wouldn't stfu about lsdj, or chiptunes, or how i'm a huge hipster for thinking top-40 radio is for hypnotized pod-people.
on their own, they're jarring in a mix of non-chip, but there are some great, super long mixes in youtube. they're awesome for doing something you want to zone out during like mapping.
people that are touchy with miniscule things like the dif between 8-bit and digital want you to know that them knowing the difference is their only marketable skill.

Honestly, didn't expect my venting to result in a discussion of significant length in a thread meant for things in general. XD
Anyway, NeonXSZ, a game I made music for, came out the other day on Steam! :) Those who have played it seem to have given an overall positive response so far.

Is anyone else paying attention to the several Denial of Service attacks taking place this weekend? It's weird that so very few sites are reporting them.

Yeah, that's what I read. Furthermore, they organized the attack on Sunday 'cause it's the day most people are free to play games.
And naturally, they did it just for cheap laughs.
