 Equipment Upgrade System by Charlie Fleed, Version 1.2
My computer has some trouble so I can't give you the Link Download Demo. But I will list all Script I use.

_HP/SP Bar by SephirothSpawn.
_Distance (For Interactive Enemies).
_Enhanced Equip Ver.1.
_Next is all the script about "Passive Effects". (Lots of them)
_Universal Message System V1.6.3 by Ccoa.
_Skills that use HP.
_Script about changing Damage Text Revamp by PK8.
_Party Changing System by Leon_Westbrooke.
_COGWHEEL Plug 'n' Play Menu Bars.

Ok. I suggest to move the script at the end of the script editor. Put it just before "main".
I did that, I added an event that calls Scene_Enhance.new and I can see the weapons and armors with their slots. When did you get the error message exactly?

Hey Charlie, are there any plans to have upgradeable weapons? Like if a weapon starts off with no slots, make an event or script call to add a slot, then later on, add another slot, and another, until it becomes maxed.

Well, I liked the idea and I did it right away.
See, version 1.1 will have upgrades, which will be the same as fixed enhancements but will not take slots. It wasn't too much of an effort to create special upgrades which add slots (still to a maximum of 5).
This brings the introduction of customizable weapons and armors with zero slots and bla bla bla... it will all be clear in the demo. When I will release it. Which I don't know when will happen.
