Hello, dear readers of the Destiny of End Rumor-Filled, But-Totally-Legit-Though Gazette!
This is the first issue! And boy, do we at the Gazette have a scoop for you!
...Okay, maybe this gimmick won't work well for updates. We'll see how it goes over. I just wanted to be a bit creative when delivering lore and stuff about Destiny of End.
I hear... Pipsqueak's name isn't Pipsqueak at all!
Well, it kinda is. Yet it also isn't. Make sense?
Yeah, didn't think it made much sense either at first. I hear his real name is not hard to find, since he's the only gladiator/berserker/idiot who needs to put on a shirt that formerly served in the Karula army! Karula's Royal Guard, in fact! Jeepers, who would've known that?! Our super-sleuths are amazing, right?!
But what is his name, you might ask? The Karula records are sealed, and have been since the Kerusa Kingdom days. That darn King!
If only we had flashback scenes in Destiny of End to show the battle that got him invited into the Royal Guard. Hmm.
That's all for now, dear reader!
Next time, we'll have an even bigger scoop! Promise!
I hear there used to be more monsters!
I wonder what happened to them all? They... didn't all go under my bed, did they?
Surely not! ...Right?
Uhh... sleuths? Can you... investigate? I'm gonna go rent a hotel... for no particular reason.

Yup! Make a guy say "I like-a do the chacha like a sissy girl" if you so please. Or not. Why am I yelling that into a megaphone? Gosh, this is weird.
Anyway, yeah. Support if you want! If we get enough patrons, the game's free for every patron. So... yeah. That's it. I'll... stop yelling into the microphone now.
Probably.

Hello, dear readers of the Destiny of End Rumor-Filled, But-Totally-Legit-Though Gazette!
Today, we've got many scoops for you!
Our first scoop is a confusing one; It's an excerpt from remnants of a scientist's burnt diary. It was found in a burned-down lab that's been closed for about 400 years, according to our source, meaning it's from around the Wartime! They had science back then?! Uhh... I knew that! Anyway, the person's name isn't in the pages, but it was in a lab, and it sounds super sciency, so it is a scientist. Probably.
Here it is:
"Acrid Month, 1100, Day 22
None of the subjects seem to have survived the trials. None except the Original. But he is too fearsome to awaken. Too hard to dispose of. Too impossible to hide. I believe we may have to take a gamble in attempting to dispose of him.
The orders were simple, but frustration and panic have set in for us all. I can't begin to explain how our success was a failure in itself...
The Original will"
That's where the burned page ends. Burnt the end of the sentence and everything. Spooky stuff, this! I wonder what they were up to in this lab? You know, I bet they were doing something with Dragons. Or Behemoths. Yeah, probably a Behemoth. Don't take my word on it, though. I'm just a reporter, not a time traveler!
Or AM I?!
We collectively stopped using "Acrid Month" and switched to "Water Month" after the Wars, so it sounds of the time. Bravo, Anonymous Source! I hope we get more tips from you someday!
On to the next scooperino!
The rebel girl Sheena's a Light Mage, but her magic capabilities are apparently hereditary. Strangely, she's the first of the family in generations to become a Light Mage. The others mastered single or dual elements! I wonder if I have what it takes to become a Light Mage? Probably not. I can't even cast a single spell, not even a basic Healing spell! Lame, right? I know...
On to the next scoop!
This one comes from our Private Investigator! It has something to do with our own Gazette office!
TOMANI, I KNOW IT'S YOU STEALING MY SNACKS EVERY DAY! PLEASE RETURN THEM AND NOBODY HAS TO KNOW. THANK YOU.
That's all for now, dear reader!
Next time, we'll have the promised scoop on MONSTERS!
Our super-sleuths should be returning from the old Harpy Nesting Grounds near the Maffle Mountains and from the Behemoth Fields near Ocu Lake soon... I hope.

I figured I might as well introduce some of the leaders of the more "Official" resistance to King Karula's rule.
There are a lot of small fringe groups acting on their own, but the leaders of kingdoms and the alliances that were formed should be talked about as well. They do own land, after all
Mala Devalios, the Duke of Rumari, is a former 5-year champion of the Mith Colosseum. He fights with his fists, and had unintentionally killed many of his opponents in Colosseum battles. He was banned from competing in the Colosseum after he killed another competitor before their battle began. The person had attacked him, and his counterpunch was fatal. The Colosseum managers saw how angry he was, and figured it was on purpose, and thus he was banned for life.
He wears a vest and no shoes. His genealogy is not clear, and he is an orphan who was never adopted by a family.
After being banned from the Colosseum, he devoted his time to helping the Rumari people, gaining favor and respect among them. He broke up crime rings on his own, and despite his fearsome disposition, he seems to have a soft spot for the people.
When he rose his banner against the Karula Kingdom, due to the commanding respect among the people, Devalios had a large territory spanning from Siva to Ocu Lake. However, his leadership of the Northwestern branch of the rebellion against the Karula Kingdom was short-lived; Devalios made a deal with Karula to stay the Duke of Rumari in exchange for his military support and keeping some of his land. The negotiated land that was kept included the Rumari shipyard in Leeg, making his alliance invaluable to the Karula Kingdom.
Map for reference of named areas:
That's it. Hope you enjoyed the character info!
There's more to comeon the Rulers. I just... need to remake the territories image, since for some reason I never redid it with the updated map version.

Why do you need to include the Effie Checkpoint? What's the story behind it? What about the bare lands? Are they mysterious places? Or you haven't decided what kind of things or towns you should place there?

Thank you for the inquiry, kyo!
The Effie Checkpoint is an important area strategically. I might go into more detail about it eventually, as I do have notes on the area itself. In fact, I may go over it when speaking of the leader of the Alzor Kingdom. We'll see.
As for bare lands, they themselves aren't mysterious. However, some are areas that cartography wouldn't be possible. See the area below Lambast with the big ol' question mark? Nobody goes there, because people who have gone there before haven't come back alive. No living cartographers leave the area? No map information for the area.
There is a possibility of adding a couple more towns to the Kerai Continent. Just... putting that out there.

Hello, dear readers of the Destiny of End Rumor-Filled, But-Totally-Legit-Though Gazette!
We've got MONSTER scoops for you in this edition! Get it? MONSTER? Because it's about monst- Okay, okay, I'll get to reporting, sheesh!
So, our amazing super sleuths and super secret sources are back from their assignments with tons of new info! The investigators were assigned to the Behemoth Fields around Ocu Lake, and to the old Harpy Nesting Grounds in the Maffle Mountains, and our super-smart sources have some amazing insight on those areas! Wow!
What one of our sources told us, well... it's quite sad, if you ask this reporter. The old Harpy Nesting Grounds is where the Harpies, a type of larger beast we call "monsters", chose to make their nesting grounds before the local people decided to clear out the area for shops. In the mountains. Yeah, who'd have thought mountainside shops would be all the rage? I guess you never know, huh?
Anyway, according to our sleuths, the Harpies are trying to retake the old Nesting Grounds by reportedly attacking civilians in the area. The New Harpy Nesting Grounds were attacked in response by local officials, but the Karula army has ceased all local operations to liberate the area from the Harpies, placing the local officials that tried to help the citizens UNDER ARREST! There are no signs of any recent Harpy births in the New Harpy Nesting Grounds, which means the Harpies may be near extinction and are mounting a last-ditch effort to retrieve their old Nesting Grounds to resume their... birthing. Monsters are generally seen as peaceful unless you mess with them; at least, that's been peoples' experiences the past 300+ years, since they've been kept under control so well! So this development of monsters invading human spaces is fairly new, and quite troubling to a simple reporter like me!
Our sleuth assigned to the Behemoth Fields encountered a few oddities and abnormalities, and I would like to keep our sleuth, Mr. Takobil, entirely anonymous. Please don't tell anyone that it was Deleshus Takobil the 3rd who was scouring the area. What he discovered can absolutely jeopardize his life and safety. You see... he saw some things. Some things that shouldn't be. Reporting on these things could even put me in danger, and I'm just reporting!
According to our investigator, an Alpha Behemoth was in the forest near Ocu Lake. It was fighting another Alpha Behemoth for dominance. The Behemoth population has boomed, and there's more than a single Alpha in the bunch. Something is entirely wrong here! According to our sources, the Kerusa Kingdom had kept the Behemoth Fields in check for over 200 years, when the Behemoths first moved from the Welka Desert to the grassland around Ocu Lake; hence, we started calling it Behemoth Fields in the first place. It used to just be a grassy area around the Ocu Lake! But if the Behemoth population is booming, then the Karula Kingdom has stopped keeping them in check. At least, that's what would be inferred from this observation.
A Behemoth is a beast that grows VERY FAST, and keeps growing,
and GROWING,
and G R O W I N G... and if they're not properly kept in check, they'll be as big as a rich guy's mansion! An Alpha Behemoth grows even bigger, and they're MUCH stronger; In fact, they're a huge problem to take out, which is why you need to spot them and eliminate them when they're young. Otherwise, humongous issues arise, like invasions of towns and destruction of local wildlife in search of food sources. They're ferocious, they're unrelenting, they're fast, they're extremely powerful, and they have green drool, and I just don't want one invading any towns and drooling on people, ya get me?
So, dear readers, don't be surprised if you see something on the Request Boards about this. As a reporter, I just know these things tend to get out of control quickly. Stay safe, friends. And if you see a Behemoth, walk the other way and let The Guild take care of it.
The HI HP Guild is on the case, right?
...Right?
The same super-anonymous investigator also encountered something else on the way back. In another grassland near a town I won't name, there was a woman standing in the rain. She seemed zoned out during the rainstorm, as if in a trance. Her hair was longer than her own body as it blew in the whipping winds, and she didn't seem to have a care in the world. Her long dress was soaking in the rain, and she wasn't wearing shoes. Our sleuth approached the woman, and when she spotted him drawing near, she ran faster than anyone he has ever seen, heading West towards the forest. Perhaps she lives in the mountains that I shall not name that are in that direction?
Anyway, I'm glad our sleuth didn't catch up to her. You see, there's no way that was a normal woman. It had to be a Dragon! The quirks, the speed, the look... If he caught up to her, there's no telling what she would do. A Dragon's monster form is scarier than an adult Behemoth, and just as scary as an Alpha Behemoth. You don't want to be messing with one. They were used during the War for a reason; their strength is unmatched, and it took many men to incapacitate a single one.
According to our apparently hateful and super-mean source, Dragons are ferocious, human-mimicking monsters, and not actual people. They were culled to near extinction after the War 400 years ago, where they were used as engines of destruction and death on the battlefield; but, because their human form is so convincing, many escaped the culling. Obviously, they are still around today, even if they are unable to merge with society once again.
I know a lot of people that, for some reason, still hate Dragons. Perhaps it's because they were blamed for prolonging the War and taking many lives with them, or perhaps it was because the new King that took the throne after the War proclaimed them as enemies of society, accusing them of being responsible for the slaying of the entire royal family. (A proclamation with no evidence we can find, however)
Whatever the reasons may be, they are a fairly unwelcome sight these days in many eyes; that is why I have kept the locations of this Dragon sighting so guarded. This woman would be hunted down and slain by marauders pretending to be for justice over a war they had no part or interest in, and as an unbiased reporter, I cannot let something like that happen because of my reporting.
A blatant Dragon sighting...
Booming Behemoth population...
Harpies attacking civilians...
What's going on these days?! I fear chaos may soon break out if monsters go unchecked, and society itself will begin to crumble into a defensive posture from constant barrages of monster invasions. And I fear something else is going on within the Karula Kingdom itself.
Three years ago, King Szayel Karula himself slew an Alpha Behemoth to aid in the population control. Surely he still knows the importance of keeping them in check today? Strange.
That's all for now, dear reader!
Next time, we'll have a discussion about the HI HP Guild!
Is something going on within the Guild's ranks?
HI HP GUILD EXPOSED?! Are we really doing this?! Apparently we are!
Super-sleuths! It looks like we have another assignment for you!
Go! Go go go! And don't come back until you've got something good for our dear readers, understood?!
And bring me back some behemoth steaks! I'm hungry!
