um they don't have to be DIRECTLY ripped to be rips. if you play the game and position the player directly in front of them you can take the screenshot and clean it up and stuff. i'm not saying that this guy didn't touch these up and i'm not saying that he didn't put work and love into these, but they're still rips. very well-made, cleanly-edited rips. even if he placed every pixel by hand, if he used the actual game as a perfect guide then it's still a rip because it's the work of game freak/nintendo. i'm not going to deny this guy's skill or talent because i don't know him and for all i know he might be an incredible artist and put a lot of time into recreating these graphics. but it's obvious from plenty of the objects in his original set (like the honey tree, etc) that these are either taken directly from the game or copied directly from the game.
now there's nothing WRONG with that at all, just don't claim that they're something they're not. that's all im saying bro
EITHER WAY it doesn't matter because filters look like shit and throwing filters over pixel art is an insult to any serious pixel artist.
