It might be a good idea to give the loser a small bit of UP, so they won't find themselves in a dead end kind of position (they lose, get no UP, can't upgrade equips at all which results in them losing again etc).
As for how to determine UP for the winner, how about basing it on the total level of the enemy party?
Like: 100 UP x total level of enemy party... or something like that.

yes, that was the same I thought about. As loser you gain e.g. just 20%, but that would be better than nothing. So you can buy some potions for the next fight or maybe some new equipment.

This looks so awesome.
What is marshal in scripting by the way?

Currently items are not permanently used-up. You get your potions back at the end of the battle. Having a good set of items has to be part of the winning strategy.
In the light of that, I think that giving exp to all characters during battles is already something for the losers.
I guess it could trigger a sort of two-phases growing, the phases being 'buy items/equipment' and 'level-up'.
@Valdred: Marshal is a module with functions to save and load objects from/to files and strings.

Well, if items aren't used up, then it's not as bad. Still, I don't really see how giving the loser a small amount could hurt. It could be minimal, but after countless loses it would still allow that player to re-adjust his/her item/equip settings a bit.
Even though I've made 3 different teams, I have yet to actually play someone though, so all I said above is just theory. I really need to play some before I know what I'm talking about. =P
Also, there are no descriptions on the Potion/Perfume, so... how much do those actually restore?

Default values, that is 500 HPs and 500 MPs.
EDIT: adding a sort of text wall on the web server page, where users can leave their messages to others, it may serve as a chat, even though the log is not immediately updated when a user sends a message in order to not overload the server. The idea is that it could be used by one to tell people when he will be online to play. Posted messages will expire after 24 h.

Just want to say that the new chatbox feauture is absolutely brilliant. Really good job on that one. It will certainly make setting up matches much easier.

I currently have the game open if anyone wants to play.
I think Charlie, you need to add Mouse Support. There's also some cropping on the Menu Text where it cuts off at the bottom. Not sure if that's my Virtual Machine or the game itself.

The game needs the Kartika fonts installed. Other fonts may get cut off or result too little.
Mouse Support... never used one, I have to do some searching for a good mouse support script.
The thing I am most concerned with however right now is the fact that rmxp stops updating as its window doesn't have the focus. This causes the players to disappear from the channel, the room host to not send acks, leading to clients' disconnection, and so on.
I don't know how to change this behavior, maybe there's something I can do with Windows API calls, maybe not. I would go as far as to try to ask Enterbrain people how to do it.
