map export

Is there a way to export a map file as an image? I'm working on some larger scales and taking screenshots and assembling them in photoshop is time consuming. it'd be great if there was a script or some quicker way to do this. it would really help me plan my larger maps more easily if i were able to see them more zoomed out than the 1/4 view allows.

Hey, Kasper. Happy

And yes. Yes, there is a tool. The original code for it was a bit clumsy and required it be inserted into your project. What I have linked below acts as its own executable... though it was made with RPGMaker XP as well.

MapMaker for RMXP

The tool uses an additional .dll than what comes with XP, this one allowing you to do 'other things' than just keeping focus on the map making tool. Given some map sizes, it can take some time... and you will want to do other things, right?

Ha, I was searching for something like this as well.

I did a little test and it took roughly 18 minutes to extract and convert a 370x223 map. As DerVVulfman stated, you'd better have other things to do in the meanwhile.

That depends upon the speed of your PC. Granted, I use both a Win7 lappy for testing purposes (slooooow) and a Win10 desktop for the real stuff. The largest and slowest is still (of course) the 500x500 as it is the default.

My desktop computer is a decade old Pentium 2 running a cracked copy of Windows 7. It has outlived every other PC in my home.

Little wonder why it took so long.
