Now the script properly updates the choice cursor when you have more than 8 choices and you press the left or right button to skip some of the choices. It will try to pick the choice to the lefthand or righthand side of the previously selected one.

Well, that's not related to FancyChoices XP script at all. Thus, you can freely open the merchant's event and delete the only script call there. Save the project and the demo won't crash anymore.
